I purchased the 12-gauge version of this Spartan Power wire, and overall I think it is a very good product. The wire itself appears to be good quality, and the insulation is also well made. It is flexible and easy to work with. Another feature I like is that the two conductors can be separated by splitting them down the middle. This is particularly useful when you need the positive and negative leads to go to different locations toward the end of an installation. My only issue is with the product description calling this “welding lead.” At least with the 12-gauge version, I think that description is a little misleading. As long as you are using it within the appropriate current-carrying capacity of 12-gauge wire, it is perfectly good cable, but I personally would not consider 12-gauge wire to be typical welding lead or heavy battery cable. That being said, judged simply as 12-gauge copper wire, I have no complaints. The wire and insulation are good quality, it is easy to work with, and the price is fair. I would definitely purchase it again if I needed more 12-gauge wire. Good product—just pay attention to the wire gauge and don't let the “welding lead” description give you the impression that 12-gauge wire is suitable for loads beyond its normal capacity. ... show more
