We have a community well... good water, but chlorinated and has a bit of a sulfur smell. Also, the tank is an old steal tank, which gives us some rust now and then. We were about to invest in a filter system costing thousands... decided to try the AO Smith whole house system, with this 5 micron carbon filter. Works great! The housing is clear, so I can tell if the filter is getting dirty. If I start noticing the sulfur smell, I will go ahead and change it (usually about 3 months). Tip: Tee off the outside faucets BEFORE the filter if you can. ... show more

Pressure seems to be unaffected. There is no longer a taste to the water. There is no residue in the shower. Hopefully hit will last a few new months.
