Upon initial setup of our system we went with the 5 micron filter (black). Our water pressure was terrible, but had no idea it was linked to this filter. We were ready to move out of our home thinking it was just plumbing done incorrectly in our home since we had no pre softener/filter experience with the water prior to moving in. We called a plumber and water provider and they both pointed at the softener system so we called our installer and he remove the 5 micron filter which was a pre-filter to out whole home filter to the softener. HOLLY MOLLY!! The water pressure was awesome with no filter, but I knew I needed another based on the iron build up. We opted for this filter at 25 micron and the water pressure was sustained. After about 3 days it was already orange. I don't believe it will last 6 months in my house hold as recommended, but so far so good at the month and a half mark! ... show more

Seems to keep the sediment out of our plumbing fixtures, which is essential. They won't last 6 months, but we have city water, and the lines are ancient.

    • Whole house water filter
I was using the other carbon water filter. This water filter works so much better. My water pressure is not affected by using this water filter. Being white, it shows what contaminants are in the water supply. It blocks all the contaminants and gives me clean drinking water.
