This item is not pre-assembled and must be assembled by the customer. However, the instructions are clear and extra screws are provided. There are no sharp edges like most filing cabinets. The drawers slide out smoothly. The sides of the drawers are complete (no half drawer with skinny frames to hang the files--no support bar is necessary). The drawer slides out to the end so the full drawer all the way to the back can be accessed easily.     • Holes do not line up / Lock is malfunctioning. / Drawers are not strong.

Had issues with everything lining up. Had to drill holes to get it to work. Once I had it together, the drawers would not go in and shut. They would not line up. Then I closed the top drawer and the locking system fell down. It jammed all the drawers that were pushed inside. It will not allow you to take off the top to get to the lock because all screws are inside. This is very poorly made. The locking bar has a bend in it and will not open. I have contacted the seller for a refund. They offered only half price. I asked for a replacement but they demanded pictures. I sent pictures of the locking bar and they said it was fine. Never again will I buy from an outside company on Amazon. They do not guarentee their product or will refund the amount. If I could I would rate this negative 10! ... show more

I wanted to give an update to my 2 star review. I did receive the product with 1 defective bracket for the drawer. My husband was able to engineer the bracket to work. The seller did contact me to replace the bracket, however it was not necessary since my husband already fixed it. The seller did offer to refund me for the inconvenience which I appreciate. I am changing my review to 5 star because now that the bracket is fixed, the cabinet works well. It is very sturdy, and easy to assemble for myself If you read instructions throughly. I used this cabinet at work and decided to buy it for my home. I know this is a cabinet that will last me many years without needed to be replaced. ... show more
