I purchased this kayak seat pad along with two others, and this one ended up being a close runner-up to the winner. These gel-type seat cushions are sturdy, comfy, non-slip, and waterproof - ideal for SOT kayaks. I appreciate that the thickness of the pad keeps my butt out of water that makes its way into the seat recess without lifting me up so much that it throws of my balance and center of gravity. The only reason this one wasn't the ultimate winner in my little test is that the other one was a bit bigger and filled out the seat recess a lot better. It was otherwise identical to this one. The loser in the experiment was a foam-type seat that wasn't as sturdy or comfy, nor did it provide as dry a ride. Don't do foam. The only con I can think of is that, in comparison to foam, these are nowhere near as lightweight. Really not a consideration of mine, as I'm not hiking with it or anything. I highly recommend this cushion, particularly if you have a smaller bottom and don't need a larger cushion.

We backpack into the BWCA in Northern MN and sit in a canoe for 6-8 hours a day. Was looking for a cushion to help ease the pain of sitting for so long, but also something that is light enough to pack. This one is certainly comfortable. It is a good 2 inches thick and fits my rear just fine. The quality seems good, and the cover is nice to keep the actual cushion clear of debris and dirt. My only gripe is the description says it weights .16 ounces. That is definitely not the case, and I assumed it would be more than that, but not quite as heavy as it is. If you are just kayaking or canoeing and don't have to worry about carrying in a bunch of packs and such, it's not a big deal. But when weight is critical, you have to give up some things. We will make it work, but it would be nice if they put the actual weight on the description for others who back pack and canoe like we do. It's good to know. Other than that, it is super comfy and should hold up well over time. I will give up another amenity to accommodate this. It looks like a back and butt saver for sure. 5 stars!

My kayak came with a thin 1/8 inch foam seat. It really didn't do much of anything. After a few hours in the seat you could get a little sore. This is a nice low tech upgrade. It's just a cushion but it's really well done. It's silicone or gel of some sort with a grid pattern. Think of those Purple mattress tops. Definitely an upgrade for a basic kayak.

Nice quality gel-type seat. The outer case is a bit flimsy, but might hold up if you baby it and are careful when washing it. The honeycomb type gel insert is a lot of empty space, so it's actually quite lightweight. I'm about 140# and the pad bottoms out without being uncomfortable... It might not be so forgiving if you're bigger/heavier than me. Instead of being a standard flat pad, it actually has ridges to conform to the human bottom. It's comfortable, and the design works well. You could certainly use it for more than just kayaking, and it feels fine to use it on an office chair or car seat as well.

I like this gel seat cushion, it feels comfortable and cool to me and stays in place well. The cover on the unit I received was sloppily cut/stitched in one area, which doesn't affect function at all, but that is the reason I couldn't go a full five stars on this one. Otherwise, I like this product and have been using it in my lawn chair and can tell that it will be very helpful on my jon boat bench seats. Overall, in my opinion, the product description and pictures accurately reflect the product I received and its potential uses, and I am happy with it. Thanks and good luck!

I have two of these seat cushions that I use in my tandem kayak. They really are great for increasing comfort and increasing endurance. The gel structure is very durable and allows for good airflow (and water flow). The polyester cover is washable and also keeps larger pieces of dirt and leaves out of the gel grid while in use. The seat did have a chemical smell when I first unboxed it, so do keep it away from your living spaces for a few days while it gasses out. (A garage is best). Great design! 5/5

I like to canoe. My posterior doesn't like to canoe very much anymore. I got this LILITUAN Anti Slip Kayak Seat Cushion because while the 40+ year old canoe is the same as it was when new, my posterior certainly isn't. Since the canoe is still in storage for the winter, I tried this on the concrete edge of the pool. So nice. So comfortable. And I may buy a second because I like it that much.
