    • A little better than a foam stadium seat

Previously I had been using a thick foam stadium seat cushion in my kayak, but it always seemed to slide out of position when entering the kayak. I decided to try this cushion hoping it would stay planted on the seat better, and that the padding might be better on long paddles. I feel kind of mixed about the cushion. I am not sure it stays in place any better when entering the kayak. I think the reason is that without weight on the cushion yet, it slides about as easy as the foam cushion. I'm sure that once weight is on it there is less sliding, but that has not been a problem for me. I do think the padding is a bit better than the thick foam cushion for long paddles, but not dramatically so. In the end, it is OK for the money but not the solution I was hoping for. I kept it in the end, but will probably not buy one for our other kayak. ... show more

As I age I find my posterior gets sore more quickly. This cushion is helping out in two places: on the seat of my pedal kayak, where I frequently go out for a four mile exercise run, and on the seat of my Concept 2 rowing machine, where again. the vigor of exercise can leave one feeling sore. I'm a recreational kayaker. I go out for a couple hours every two weeks or so. After an hour, sitting would become uncomfortable. My friends wanted to take a trip on the rainbow river in Florida. It would be sitting in the kayak for over 5 hours. I was worried... I bought this and WOW what a difference. After 6 hour I was still feeling good. These were a great purchase in my opinion. Works well in my kayak. It may be the most comfortable seat I have ever used in the 5 kayaks I have owned over the years. The only negative is that it holds water and so it will weigh a little more at the takeout.

Not as much padding as I needed, but it was definitely better than nothing. Though I do like the non-slip features, this needs to be like 2" thicker for long kayaking trips. Paddled 10 miles sitting on this with rest stops and stretching about every 2 miles and this pad just was not enough.

Used for first time this week. Very pleased with the quality and effectiveness in padding the tush for a 2 hour kayak ride. Cures the discomfort! Non slip finish on top and bottom is great. Perfect fit inside vintage Hobie sit on top kayak’s original seat.
