I had very recently bought a new recliner. The very last thing I wanted to have happen was for my cat to scratch it to pieces. I was pleasantly surprised with these sticky panels that I applied to my furniture. I liked how you can cut them to fit your furniture accordingly. You do need to apply the additional furniture screw tacks for the added security of them staying on. It may look a little tacky, but not one visitor has noticed anything. I purchased these after I got rid of a cat tree that the cats had scratched to bits. Since the cats had no other place to scratch, they started scratching on my sofa. This has worked perfectly to prevent them from scratching though I also make sure there’s one of the cardboard scratching pads nearby just in case. Make sure you get the clear ones as there are some out there to purchase that have a sticky side and those can actually collect cat hair and dust. ... show more

It definitely works to help your cat’s stop scratching. It’s also mostly unnoticeable. The adhesive does start to break down after a while, but overall, it’s a great product.

Most of the transparent cat protectors on Amazon have negative reviews because the adhesive is not that reliable. This product is the real deal. Had a cat chewing up a hutch, and was able to cut up all sort of protectors that went on and stayed on. Really effective deterrent, and doesn't look bad. The adhesive might pull some paint or varnish off over the long-term, so be prepared to do some light repair work, but that's nothing compared to the damage the cat could do!
