  • Game Changer
Coming from a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 this Orion Studio is simply incredible sounding. I record all instruments myself so I've tried it on drums, guitars, acoustic instruments, vocals, and all manner of aux percussion and it just blows me away every time. Zero latency on my Windows 11 laptop over USB, and tracking at 44.1 khz I really can't believe how excellent my recordings sound now. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. ... show more

  • On the fence about this one.....
Yep cant play youtube audio at the same time a daw is running. Pissed off about that!! Then the software and plugins don't work. Press install it doesn install jack!! Then windows problems. I refuse to buy apple anything. I have one of the top computers in the world. I purchased a thunderboltex 4 to use the thunderbolt pkug instead of the usb. FORGETABOUIT!!!!! I have one of the best boards out there. Asus tuf b850 gaming. Everhing is there to make thunderbolt work including in the bios yet nope!!!! Does not work with thunderboltex 4. 4 days working on this anelope studio synergy core!!! I mean 4 days 16 hours. Just cant get into work right! The routing is so complicated!! I wanted a professional audio interface and so far I'm on the fence about it. With the usb connection, i get audio. Im able to scream in my mic with no distortion. Im ablento slam those keyboard keys no distortion. I love that part about this machine. No latency zero! The routing is insanely confusing! Customer service is ah. They'll call you back for sure. Felt a little rushed. I don't want to pay a single cent for customer supprt. When you get everything routed correctly, you have to save those settings in a file. Reload those settings for that particular routing setup. Again id like to be able to browse the internet look on youtube etc while the daw is running and I cant do it!!! It's like the drivers disappear!! I can't deal with that! Maybe use the onboard audio and route that to different speakers? Whhhhhhhhhyyyyyy!!!!!! Thisbis insanity. And who donwe blame. The motherboard manufacturer? The interface manufacturer? The thunderbolt manufacturer? I'm going to with the interface manufacturer because my PC works with any other interface! Nothing is wrong with it! Maybe we blame intel for their BS Thunderbolt crap that makes it impossible to use thunderbolt on a PC. Is it just me???????? That's a serious question! I don't know if im returning this audio interface or what to do because of the pros of it. But antelope orion studio synergy core needs to do a whole lot better before putting a $3000.00 piece of equipment out there for people to waste money on. What code???? Check out pictures I uploaded. Then the software oh another $400. Then on the Antelope launcher they have install this install that, it stays on install this and that forever. Says it installed and doesnt install anything!!!!!!! Amazing! I get it they sell hardware and want us all to drop more money in their software? I really wanted to like this machine. I been in the recording studio world for what over 16 years and I never ever once had this many issues with an audio interface. 4 days trying to get it to work. Im talking i took 4 days off work to get this going. I'm on thr fence! ... show more

  • Perfect Interface
This interface sounds incredible, the I/O is fantastic, and the flexibility is unparalleled. I switched from an Apollo 8P interface and the upgrade in pres (mic and high impedance), outputs, and clock are significant (not to mention the routing). I'm using it via Thunderbolt in Windows (with Voicemeeter where necessary). For recording and general use, I have latency set to 32 samples (48k) without issue. I set it higher for mixing purposes to facilitate PC effects processing and the routing into and from the Antelope effects through my DAW. Of note is that USB must be connected to update the device. If I am fortunate enough to expand in the future, I'll be adding a second one of these. ... show more

  • Short Lived Junk
I have had the interface for just about 2 years. It worked normally for about 8 months and then developed an odd restarting problem and would disconnect from thunderbolt. Not withstanding the AFX2DAW plugin is garbage and freezes Ableton Live even when the interface is running. At that point I discovered how awful the support is which generally consists of golden booting and restoring the firmware every 2 or 3 driver releases. To do this you have to be able to pull the DC power to do a full reset, so I haven't been able to keep it in a rack since, since I constantly have to pull the power. It runs very very hot also even un racked and sitting on a desk. At 1 year 1 month thunderbolt ceased to be able to connect at all and I had to pay an exorbitant sum to have the hardware repaired out of warranty which took about 45 days. This allowed thunderbolt to connect again but basically every month or so I get "CRITICAL ERROR! failure.c L:204 E:0 BusFault_Handler" and the device hard locks. I have never experienced audio hardware errors and driver issues so frequently as I have with this interface. Things 1/10th the cost perform better. It has turned out to be the worst value in audio hardware I've ever experienced in 25 years as well. ... show more

  • Worst Thunderbolt drivers in the industry
Antelope Audio's drivers are the absolute worst. Get ready for endless nightmares of crackling, dropouts and third party software for workarounds. I will never trust Antelope Audio again.
