Bought this in case I need to place down my Steam Deck for a bit or to hold it at a fixed position and play it at that pose. Aside from that, the magnet ring is strong and works just fine to hold a heavy console like it. You can use it to hold your phone (Like an iphone or anything with that magsafe rings for incompatible devices), while holding your steam deck normally, like multitasking. This magnetic stand far exceeded my expectations. I was very surprised of the strength the magnetic grip had with my steam deck. I also appreciated that it is height adjustable, foldable and portable. It’s helped with the pain in my hands when gaming on the console. 10/10

    • Nice strong magnet
Magnet has some guts. When not in use, I keep the stand attached to the bottom side of a steel shelf I have, so no fears of it having issues holding steamdeck. It's not case compatible but it doesn't claim to be. It's well made, seems well designed, and durable. Easy recommendation.

This is a sturdy stand for my Steam Deck. I prefer playing handheld, but sometimes I want to sit back and use a controller, but not a television or monitor. This stand makes it possible for me to do that, and also comes in handy when I just don’t feel like holding the console. This MagSafe stand is STRONG and durable! I was a little worried it wouldn't be able to support the weight of the steam deck, especially when I'm playing it, however this has not been a problem. The magnets on the stand, and the attachment for the SD are very strong and powerful and it actually requires a bit of force to remove (which is a good thing! You don't want your $600 SD falling off the stand!) The stand does require you to use an attachment for the SD which did mean I had to swap out my case for an alternative one that fit this stand but if you go case-less this will not be a problem (or if you use thinner cases). Alternatively you can also buy on amazon cheap stick-on mag-safe rings which you can throw onto a case. This stand works pretty good. The only thing I don't like is that the magnetic clip-on part has sharp edges that get stuck in the cracks in the Steam Deck's chassis. Makes getting the clip on and off hard as sometimes it gets stuck on the chassis of the Steam Deck and take a fair amount of force to dislodge it. ... show more
