Completely unstretched feet are about 2 feet from each other; minimal tension until at least 3 feet apart. I have other bands that generate significant tension anything over a foot apart. This may be useful for extremely large movements (which I've seen benefit with) but as an all-in-one set of bands this product is not for me. Another possible use is to connect to a stable post or exercise machine for an anchor, but this is sometimes inconvenient at home. I have a fair amount of strength so this may be more useful to people just starting out. The images of people exercising led me to believe that exercise would be effective at less than 2 feet apart but I found that to not be the case with any single band. Because of this I was originally only going to give 3 stars, but I geve the bands another chance with all three connected (for maximum tension). This enabled me to perform exercises with a smaller distance apart, and the tension was fairly extreme. I was also able to devise some exercises that would be effective with the single bands, although most of my normal "band" exercised didn't work that way. It would be nice if they had a pamphlet with some suggested exercises that were customized to this particular length; as it stands there was no instructions at all with this product. If you're looking for a good leg/glutes resistance training, these will do the trick! The ankle bands are comfortable and easy to loosen/tighten. My only complaint is that the band itself is a little long. I am 5'8" and have longer legs. I was trying to do a small movement to target glutes more but the band was too long that I winded up doing donkey kicks which targeted different muscles. I'll probably just wrap the band around my squat rack pole but if you don't have access to one, it'll make it harder to do certain exercises with good resistance. ... show more

I was excited to get this to help with my strength. Whoever made it, didn’t test it. It makes no sense that you have to step out really far to get any kind of resistance. Most normal people can not step out that far. The ropes are too long. I had to put the ropes together within theirselves kinda created a chain link for me to get any real resistance for it to work. I will have to use it that way. Very good concept, and the material is good quality. Just the ropes are too long for any tension. ... show more
