  • Works Perfectly, Ideal Solution
I recently started a business out of my home and wanted to keep my personal and business computing separate, so I bought a laptop I could take on trips when needed but mostly work at home on my personal setup that I use with my gaming desktop. I spent a long time searching for something from a reputable company that had a combination of USB-C for one PC (the Laptop) and HDMI/DP/USB-A for the other (the Desktop) and didn't find anything. Luckily a few months later in July Anker released this product. Frankly it was much more expensive than I was expecting such a product to be, but it really has worked out perfectly for my situation. I've had it for over three months now and would recommend it to anyone with this kind of setup. The unit itself delivers exactly what is promised. I didn't have any weird compatibility issues. It's worked with everything I plugged into it. Keyboard obviously works great, 1080p Webcam as well. I even have a cheap USB -> SPDIF sound card plugged into it that I thought for sure would cause issues, but on Win10 and Win11 the sound just switches from one PC to another pretty seamlessly. The ports are clearly labeled with their capabilities (for example, the USB-C port on the front has a bolt to indicate it can charge at 20W, and has a 5Gbps label indicating the speed). The attached remote also works well. It is a physical button, not a touch-button. It responds immediately. It has different colored lights for "PC1" and "PC2" so you can tell at a glance which PC it's on.My one complaint about it would be that it's a hardwired remote with a very long cable, so if you plan to keep your remote near the unit, you have to find somewhere to coil it up. If you like me plan to keep the unit on your desk and not hidden away somewhere (useful if you plan to swap things in and out of one of the ports), you can get 180 degree USB-A adapters which are a perfect fit on this unit. They really help with the cord control because the cords plugged into the front end up facing the back. Just make sure you get the "Female Up" version so that it comes over the top and not under the bottom of the unit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ4M7FYH/ ... show more

  • Serious Monitor Signal issues
Style: For 2 Laptops
I jumped at the promise of this product but am now repenting at leisure. The Anker 554 has terrible problems passing along live monitor signals at the moment you switch computers. You click the button to switch to your other machine and the monitor goes black while you sit there moving your mouse and typing on your keyboard to no effect. Doesn't matter if you have a live session or if the login screen is active. The keys I type while the monitor is black are visible once I finally get in -- it isn't that the machine is in sleep mode, the monitor simply does not detect any video signal. This happens on both my M1 mac mini and my 2018 mac mini, my PC seems to work fine but that does not help me for daily operation. I have only found two ways to be productive: 1) to wait until the monitor sends itself into power saving mode and THEN my mouse/keyboard can wake the monitor or 2) to unplug the usbc cable at the mac mini and plug it back in. I have played with every display option on the monitor and machines, tried a million cables, read all the Anker "display problems" articles and Apple "monitor not responding" articles, nothing has yet solved this issue. A previous reviewer talked about lack of EDID support - maybe that's the problem. Whatever it is, this KVM is missing something fundamental and I would not buy it knowing what I know now, or at least I would keep all my packaging until I did serious testing. ... show more

  • Works perfectly as advertised. Docking and KVM in one hardware. Very happy!!
Between my work laptop with USB docking and my dedicated desktop, I wanted to share my Keyboard, mouse and 2 monitors and this device does exactly that. :) I dont think I found any other device which can do docking and KVM switch and when I found this one at high price, I was hesitant to give it a try. During one of the promotional sale, I finally decided to take my chance and try it out. As mentioned in the headline, device does exactly what it says. Here are quick highlights 1. I am able to power my work Lenovo Laptop and my Mac book (both via USB C) while docked. 2. With Lenovo (i.e. Windows), i am able to extend to 2 external monitors so I get 3 screens or If I keep my laptop screen closed then 2 (i.e. 2 monitors) 3. With Mac, it only does mirror so I am not able to use 2 screens. But again product says that clearly so that is expected. 4. Both my ultra sharp monitors are giving me highest resolution. One connected with HDMI and other over display port. 5. I can share 3 USB A and 1 USB c (total 4) devices between PC1 and PC2. 6. Provides all necessary cables like USB c to USB c and 2 display cable (HDMI and DisplayPort) etc etc. All in all, it works fine, I got rid of some wire clutter and able to switch between desktop and USB C docking laptop/Mac book. Five star for product. I hope this decide lasts long enough to justify price. ... show more

  • It's pretty good
I've used a lot of Anker's stuff, so it was a no-brainer to try their docking stations when my IT department failed to provide one. This one works just fine, and the KVM feature is great, but I have one big complaint. This goes for some of their docks too - there's a cable sticking out of the side! It's a very clunky, inconvenient place for it. I love the ability to use it as a KVM, and that there's a remote switch, but please don't stick it out the side of the thing. It looks terrible and makes cable management a nightmare. Do you not know that people use these things to try to clean up the appearance of their desks, not make them look like a giant mess? Not so much! Luckily for me, my IT group got it together and provided me with a unit to replace it. ... show more
