  • Works Great with Windows and Ubuntu/Linux
I have had no issues running this with my work laptop HP Laptop running Windows 10 and my Dell Inspiron 17 running Ubuntu 20.10/Windows 10. Both laptops charge, and all ports seem to work well. In general, the worst part of the USB-C format is the confusing amount of different laptops that seem to implement it in different ways. Not this product's fault; as I said, it works well with Dell and HP while my HP Laptop dock runs with both laptops, but under Ubuntu or Windows 10 on my Dell, it falls short. The HP Dock is a Thunderbolt dock, and my Dell is a Display port marked with a DP; the DP Port on my Dell does charge and allows all ports to work with this dock. I mention it because USB-C gets confusing, and mileage may vary depending on the laptop itself. My Hp is marked as Thunderbolt, and my Dell as Display Port, and this product runs wonderfully with both. I found I could get a 4k Display using the DP port on the back of the dock in Ubuntu, but I found it a little problem some and instead switched to using the two HDMI ports instead. Sometimes 4k would flicker, but that can be my older KVM Switch (1080P KVM). I don't mind the two 1080p screens as the dock makes it so easy to switch computers. I wonder why the HDMI port only seems to pump out 1080P and the display port 4k from my experience. Still, my HP dock didn't do 4k at all, so this dock outperformed it. I have even booted my Dell and HP Laptops with a live USB of MX Linux, and with no configuration, it worked. I just changed the display settings a bit. So to sum it up. 1) Easy to use - NO Drivers to install! 2) Works across Windows and Linux. 3) Affordable and better than my work HP Thunderbolt dock. 4) Works with USB-C marked PD or Thunderbolt. Finally, I would like to say the PD port can get confusing another port format for USB-C. At first, I thought it did not work as I plugged in USB-C devices, and it was not recognized. Then I upgraded to a new Samsung phone with USB-C PD charging support, and it charged and was recognized from the PD port on the dock. So the device has to support USB-C PD. As I said, USB-C is confusing. Now, what are you waiting for? Buy this best Dock on Amazon; it is excellent for Windows and, more importantly, great with Linux. If you have Thunderbolt, the big thing you get from a Thunderbolt dock is the quicker data transfer speeds, but you need to know your laptop supports it. For me, I don't care about my work laptop having maximum data transfer speed. As I said, Thunderbolt does work with this also from what I can tell. 1/26/2024 - I am updating this because I also wanted to note that this works great with the Surface Pro 7. The only exception is the built in wired network does not seem to get recognized, but I don't care. I am using WIFI anyway. So Sound, video, and all other devices work perfectly. ... show more

  • Works great, well built.
I use this on my ThinkPad Yoga for home office. Its solidly built with all the ports I need. Performance is very good. A previous dock station I used had trouble using wireless keyboard and mouse dongles. This Anker unit has no trouble running HDMI, Ethernet, keyboard/mouse, HD camera, and other USB devices simultaneously. It's nice to have an additional USB-C port. Plenty of power is passed through to the laptop. I have had good luck with Anker products previously. It's a bit heavy (as I said well-built with high-power pass-through) so I have a smaller dock for travel where I don't need so many ports. If you need a desktop dock, I recommend this one. ... show more

  • Does the job, looks good. Wish it had one more USB-A on the back.
I have way too many things attached to this thing but its the nicest one I've had and it makes it a breeze to keep the cables manageable. Also the card readers come in handy more than you think they would.

  • Compact and exactly what I needed
Pros are it is compact, allows multiple screens, easy to setup, and can stand up like in the pictures or have it lay flat. Cons are wish it had more usb ports and put the headphone jack in the back, not in the front. Overall, great product.

  • High USB latency and denial of service ethernet packet storming
I bought three of these devices. Each one has the same issues with MacOS 11.x and 12.x. Every day, USB latency becomes unusably high for mouse, keyboard, and audio interfaces. About half of my keyboard presses are dropped and the mouse stutters until I power cycle the docking station. And when I unplug the thunderbolt from my MacBook Pro the docking station floods the network with packets indefinitely and takes the whole network down. The solution is always to power cycle the docking station. Not just turn it off then on with the front button, but remove the incoming power completely for 3-5 seconds before reconnecting and then powering it back on with the button. Lots of problems too with the HDMI and Display Port outputs. I've been an engineer for 21 years at top tech companies in the Bay Area, including 9 years in embedded systems covering USB and Ethernet device diagnostics at firmware level. These docking stations are the worst consumer devices I've seen over two decades and are essentially overpriced power supplies with critically flawed connectivity options. After many hours of troubleshooting connectivity configurations to characterize the problems and isolate the failure reproduction steps I'm confident this device is irreparably broken at the hardware or firmware level. I have reproduced this issue using various combinations of prosumer networking gear, three different laptops, and various keyboard and mouse combinations with new batteries. All of these combinations work fine with other docks. I even tried moving the display and a secondary USB hub with ethernet directly to the laptop thunderbolt ports so the only thing running through the docking station was power. Then moved just the keyboard and mouse usb receivers to the docking station. Within a day the latency was again too high to use and the situation repeats. My conclusion is that for MacOS laptops this docking station isn't a docking station at all, but rather an expensive and frustrating power supply which does not perform reliably enough to satisfy the manufacturer's claims regarding device features, capabilities, and compatibility. ... show more

  • Perfect for asus rog ally traveling setup
Bought this to have a good amount of i/o for my asus rog ally mobile gaming setup, and it doesnt disappoint. Use the usb-c 3.2 cable that comes with it to plug from the ally to the 85w pd plug in the back of the dock and thats it, everything else that gets plugged in works perfectly. If the price worries you dont let it, it is worth the purchase, especially if you want a well made usb-c docking station for a mobile gaming setup, another great product by anker ... show more
