Top Amazon Reviews

  • For the price, it's worth it.
Color: Blue
Lets start with the good: Unboxing experience was pleasant. Has a premium feel to it, and including a case with a folding cover and factory applied screen protector were excellent touches. Only suggestion would be to loose the cheap plastic bag the tablet it sealed in, within the box. It cheapens the experience and is a needless cost. For setup, I don't think I've ever had something this easy to setup out of the box. Like....setting up an iPad is harder. It's already got a genetic android account that isn't tied to Google, and the google play services work too. You just need to open the play store and sign in. From a security perspective, within the installed apps, I also don't see anything that would make me nervous about exfiltration of my data to bad actors, which makes sense as people with *that* kind of data probably aren't using el cheapo noname tablets off Amazon, ha. Now, transitioning from good to bad, I'll start by saying how surprised I am at how snappy it feels, giving how incredibly low end it is. The screen is decent, but you can SEE the pixels if you look real close. At a distance, or if you don't have the best of eyes? You might not notice, though. You won't be playing 3d games on this, or at least not unless you want FPS that makes a powerpoint presentation look fast. Web browsing and basic apps like FB & Amazon though? Sure - works great. As for the final "pièce de résistance" of it all? Lets look at the geekbench store, which spits out an empirical number of how well it did at...better numbers = faster devices. For comparison, a Fire HD 10 tablet gets a 510 on the single core test and a 1,515 on the multi-core test. A Galaxy S4 10.5 gets 384 and 1305, respectively. This Mitsubishi Mirage Ford Fiesta of tablets gets a paltry 197 single and 735 multicore. This all kind of makes sense though - The Fire HD 10 is about twice the price of this, though a refurbed S4 10.5 is like a middle ground between the cost of this new and the cost of a new Fire 10....so you'd be sacrificing "new" for performance. All that beging said, I would, and have, given fire and galaxy tablets five star reviews, so as much as I WANT to give this a 4 star...it would be unfair to give them a lesser rating when they've clearly optimized the heck out of making it fast for what it is, and, at the end of the day, it costs half as much and is half as powerful as the other tablets that would be more mainstream. And...while I'm knocking the mirage and fiesta, I mean....again, for the price, you're not gonna beat it. ... show more

  • Great "shared" tablet
Color: Black
My household is a bit split. I personally bounce between Mac Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android as needed. Very much the right tool for the job approach, but my partner sticks to Windows and Android. Thats fine, but since we both have our own slew of accounts, including a few we haven't merged together for one reason or another, we decided to see about having a low end tablet for some "shared" accounts or guests. For $50 this seemed like a great option to try out and so far we're pleased. Its pretty fast and snappy and took little effort to get setup. There was a weird kids like game on first startup, as well as some kit like stickers and things in the box, but one up and running took little effort to connect it to the accounts we wanted to easily share. We're not looking at 3d gaming or countless hours of videos to watch on this, but its managing things like Kindle, NYT Games, and other "low power" apps we wanted to run on it just fine. Audio is good for the inexpensive tablet that it is, and it comes included with everything you'd want, even if its basic entry-level things like its case and charger. While its not marketed for kids, it really feels like that's who they considered an important market sector for, but as an adult this tablet is still perfectly usable. The only downside I found so far, and admittedly not fully tested, is that the battery seems to drain on its own fairly quickly. I had it off the charger for a few days and came back to a dead battery. Easy enough to charge with a USB C cable, but it certainly does seem to have the standby time that my iPad have. ... show more

  • A great value tablet with daily driver specs
Color: Black
For a 10" tablet this is a great deal. I use these tablets primarily as ebook and comic readers, but also for random browsing as a mini laptop, and this device fits the bill nicely. Visually stunning screen sharpness, clarity, and color, even at lower brightness settings, and more than enough RAM to handle any app or document size. The processor is decent, if a little older, and it's Android 13, which isn't the newest but it's still up there. Once personalized with my apps and settings it became a highly valued member of my "device stable" getting every day use. The battery life is decent as well. My one real complaint is it's wifi, it only connects to the 2.5ghz band, so wifi access is dog slow, where most devices from the last 10 years in my house connect to the 5ghz band at least. It's not a deal breaker, but if you want this for your kid's use, it's something to consider... ... show more

  • Sub $60 Android Tablet. Outstanding Value. Responsive Customer Service.
Color: Blue
This is my first Android tablet as I am pretty plugged into the apple ecosystem. However, Apple has continually tweaked their API to limit access to detailed network information. I was looking for an inexpensive option to run software for WiFi site surveys and other kinds of wireless analysis. So far, it runs the network analysis tools that I wanted without issue. I expect to get quite a bit of use out of it for that. Compared to my Apple tablets, it seems more comparable to my 2nd generation iPad. There are noticeable delays switching between apps, etc. However, once inside an app, I haven't had any complaints about it in actual use. It comes with a cover but the cover isn't magnetic and doesn't activate the tablet on opening nor put it to sleep on close - you have to use the button for that or let it timeout to go to sleep. The battery seems adequate but is quite slow to charge and it is somewhat picky about which chargers it liked. Video playback was smooth on the things I tried and the the speakers were decent for a tablet in this price range. Overall, I will get good use out of this for my needs. This review was updated on 7/4. My review had been lower because the original listing had overstated the specifications. The seller reached out to me regarding my score and, when I pointed out the discrepancy on the specs, corrected the listing to accurately reflect the hardware. Additionally, they reduced the price making it an even better value. ... show more
