  • One speaker on two desktop PCs
I temporarily have two desktop PCs at the same desk, and wanted to share the same stereo sound-bar between them. This guy did the trick. Plugged the male connectors into the speaker-out jacks on each PC, and plugged the soundbar into the female connector. Easy-peasy. Cheaper (and zero desk space) compared to buying another soundbar. ... show more

  • It works for occasional use. do not recommend if you plan to use this as an always on situation
So if you decide to use this cord it will do the job for the most part. had no problem plugging in the audio into the ports no problems with my speakers messing up like some users have said. it does what its supposed to. allows you to use your speakers between 2 sources. (in my example a switch and a computer) it will lower the audio and quality of one of the devices. if you just use it to play some netflix or twitch and maybe some zelda or mario it will do what you need it to. but don't expect the audio on the netflix/twitch to be as sharp as it was before you turned on the other device. for 9$ you can't really complain and expect it to work like 2 different devices are each plugged into a sound board/mixer when its just one cord doing all the work. for those that buy this product and hope for it to be crisp and clear on both devices at once is not reasonable and i would recommend you look into other options. if you don't want to spend a bunch of money and don't mind the audio and quality dip (since all you have to do is focus on the other device and maybe raise your speakers) then this is will do what you need it to. ... show more

  • First Lousy Cable I've Had in a Long Time
Back in my Walkman days, headphone cables would ritually flake out. The cable would need to sit just right in the outlet, at a specific angle that, over time, became harder and harder to get right. This was thanks to the walkman banging around in a jacket pocket, and the cable bending or twisting with each step. That was 30 years ago, and I haven't had a bad headphone cable since. This one, though, is awful. It doesn't move, where I have it. It is plugged into a set of computer speakers, where the splitter provides access to a little boombox and my laptop. Just like with my 1980's walkman headphones, this one is just flaky. I can wiggle it around in my laptop jack and it crackles and pops. If it's not sitting perfectly, zero sound. When it's right, it's great. Bottom Line: Buy a different brand. This is the kind of item where almost everything you'll find comes from the same manufacturer, so they're probably all cheap trash. Make sure you can return whatever you buy. ... show more

  • I bought this to connect two different audio sources to the same headphones/speakers
I needed something that would allow me to use the same set of speakers/headphones for two separate audio sources; one was a tv with Amazon Firestick attached, and the other was a desktop computer. I wanted to use my logitech speakers and attached headphones for both the smart tv and the desktop computer without switching or disconnecting anything. These work perfectly for that. One thing I need to point out for anyone who is having trouble with volume levels or static, and what has worked for me was to mute whatever source I wasn't currently using. Meaning when I was using the speakers/headphones with the computer, I muted the tv/firestick combo, and vice-versa, therefore I wasn't getting any "bleed" over or static between the two. I've been using it for a day, going back and forth between sources with no issues, no noticeable differences in volume or static. These were a quick, inexpensive fix to a frustrating problem and I hope it works for you as well. ... show more

  • Works perfectly
Wanted to have 2 Audio Sources connected to 1 Headphone Set. Works great. However, after stopping from Source 1, when I started on Source 2, there seemed to be some Audio Issues, but then it went away. When using both Audio Sources you will get 1, and also the other, but the other will be lower Volume. ... show more

  • YES THIS WORKS WITH THE EL GATO HD 60 S
I wanted to get party chat audio along with game audio working when streaming on PS4 so I used this. Plugged one end into the controller and the other end into the el gato. Then you can plug in whatever headphones you have to the other side. Set your PS4 audio out to be TV OUTPUT then go back to the el gato and switch the audio from HDMI to Analog line in. The cable itself makes some noise when you move it around but if you don't move much nothing will happen. ... show more

  • Distance of cord may result in microphone failure
**Edit -- The seller contacted me with an offer for a refund, citing a 12 month warranty, but phrasing it in a way that suggested the warranty action would be based on my retracting my negative review. I'm choosing to view that as an error, so bumping them a star for offering the refund, however, I am disclosing that transaction here, as it could be viewed as tampering with the ratings. I purchased this item so that I could use my headset with my PC which requires the headset audio be split between microphone, and headphones. Technically, this product seems to work.. as best I can tell, as it doesn't work for me. I receive audio, which is high quality, however, I get no mic pickup at all. Through experimentation and observation, I have come to decide the problem is that the length of the cable is creating too much resistance, and the mic signal is not getting through. I also purchased a 6" splitter anticipating this might happen, and the 6" splitter works perfectly. In order to make this splitter work for me, I will need to augment the power either with a little inline amp, or by buying a headset which has a built in powered amp... either either solution would cost about the same as a wifi dongle headset a friend recommended.. making this cord effectively useless. With 3.5mm ends, I'm surprised the ratings are as high as they are, as it is quite common for 3.5mm devices to not have powered mics. ... show more

  • Very good for what it does
Does everything that it states amazingly. I used this to plug into my PC as it uses dual link DVI which does not transfer audio to the monitor. I also linked the other end to my monitor so I can play my game consoles without having the hassle of plugging and playing. Something to note is if the 2 sources of audio are on simultaneously, the volume of the output will decrease. When restoring it back to one source, it will return to normal. I don’t really notice any dips on audio quality aside from that but I’m not really a super audio person. ... show more
