I bought one and had an electrician and plumber put it in. After all said and done and a lot of money to install, it didn't work. I had to order another one and pay the plumber to come back out once again to put a new one in. The second one worked and produces HOT water! It cost me double because I had to pay a BIG bill to the plumber (and electrician) twice! I was not too happy about that. For the price, it produces scalding hot water - unlimited. Need two 40 amp breakers to run it so you will need space in your fuse panel and to run 220v to the location you will need the box. Would have been a solid 5 had I not had the troubles. UPDATE 2025 - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! I got TWO delivered; first one did not even turn on and the second turned on and did not heat! It cost me a FORTUNE to get electricians and plumbers out to try to fix the issue. I ended up having to go back to a regular water heater. I had another brand for the past year that worked and finally went out (AMCHEFZ). I believe may be the same company. Spend the extra money on a better unit !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had all the wiring set and done before this arrived and we installed it right that day. It doesn’t take long to install and oh I’ve used it and my showers are so nice! I’ve done the dishwasher and showered at the same time as well. Perfectly fine and I really do love it. Now I live in Florida so the water coming in is 72-77 degrees and I have the smaller unit. Definitely read your zone.

Didn't work . No led screen nothing also had a friend buy same unit with same problem. Did return even past 30 days with a little complaints because of time I couldn't install quickly.

Amzchef deserves only 1 star for customer service, if that. We installed the unit at great cost (nearly $800) for professional electrical and plumbing leads. Everything was to spec, yet no amount of finessing, and no attempts to communicate with Amschef's technicians, could resolve a serious problem - ALL circuits fed from the main electrical panel, which is where the unit's two double 40 amp breakers were installed, were badly affected. This meant flickering lights, voltage drop, and strange buzzing noises throughout the house. All of our wiring is modern and up-to-code; we have zero electrical problems with other high-draw appliances. I complained, and finally (after Amschef's technicians returned from many days off for Chinese New Years) they apologized and agreed to allow return of the water heater for credit. They provided a UPS code, and I sent it off today. Returned home to find an e-mail that said they were holding back $40 (!!) as a "damage fee" (!!!). What damage? Perhaps they refer to damage to my pocketbook, and lost time and aggravation here on the receiving end? $40 is a total RIP OFF - though it serves me right for buying from a Chinese company. The cultural norm in Chinese business seems to be "lie shamelessly to maximize instant returns, and to hell with customer loyalty...after all they're just dumb Americans!" Well less dumb now. I see this water heater is no longer offered for sale. Good riddance! Just be sure YOU don't fall for Amzchef's line of crap.

This is a pretty efficient little unit. It will cost you a pretty penny to get it installed but once installed it does produce hot water fast. I wish the water pressure were stronger, but it is adequate. This unit would be awesome in an apartment or a tiny home. All-in-all, the unit works to produce hot water, so this isn't a terrible option.

I had the unit installed professionally and the display did not work. I sent a few photos and video they requested and they were very responsive and was able to send me a new replacement very quickly. One of the best experiences I have ever had with a product. Thanks so much.

After spending hours installing the AMZChef Electric Heater, we realized the electric panel that shows the digital temperature didn't work. After over an hour on the phone with Amazon Customer service (which was a challenge to speak to a person), the only option I was provided by both Amazon and AMZChef was to pay my plumber hours to unstall and return it. The AMZChef Customer Service was Non-existent. All i needed was a replacement panel. So I had to pay for my handy man to install a faulty heater, uninstall a faulty heater, and reinstall a different heater I bought. This tough me a lesson to only by from a company that has local technicians.
