The media could not be loaded. So far, this works just like my Apple Pencil. I prefer the smooth feel of the Apple Pencil to this one. This is just a plain matte finish, and it is a little bit thicker. I also like how I can charge the Apple Pencil right in the bottom of the iPad. However, for the price difference between the two, this is totally worth it. It works just as good as my Apple Pencil. At first I actually felt like it worked a little better. But, then I pulled out both and compared them and it seems like they are exactly the same. The big difference to me is that I have to charge this pencil separately from the iPad. I can’t just stick it in the bottom. Plus, you have to watch the lights on the pencil to see when it needs to be recharged. There is no monitoring of it by the iPad. But, it is neat that you can turn it on and off. So far that has meant that the battery has been maintained very well for me. It comes with lots of tips, and a separate little sleeve for it that you could probably attach to a cover. My iPad cover already has a spot for the pencil, so I just put this one there. Actually, I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit since it’s a little thicker than an Apple Pencil, but it fits just fine. The only thing that I think is a little annoying is the way it magnetizes to the iPad. The part of the pencil that magnetizes is the same side where there is a little cap that covers the charging port. So, it doesn’t really hold securely because there’s this little bulge that pushes it out a little bit from the iPad. I feel like that’s just a dumb design flaw. But, since I just put the pencil in my iPad case. Anyway, it doesn’t really affect me. Overall though, I feel like this is a great alternative for someone who doesn’t want to pay the big bucks for the Apple Pencil.

This ipad pencil works great, better than the 1st gen Apple pencil. It charges quickly and works for more than a day before needing recharging. It works with both my ipad 5 mini (still uses the lightning charging cable) and my husband's ipad 10th gen (uses the type C charging cable) whereas my 1st gen Apple pencil only works with my ipad mini because it uses the lightning charger to connect. This pencil paired automatically as soon as the pencil was turned on. To turn it off & on, you simply double tap the top of the pencil. The palm rejection technology is absolutely fantastic! I was never able to write with my 1st gen Apple pencil because palm would touch the screen and interrupt the process or add unwanted characters. With this, I was able to quickly write a lengthy note without any issues. It also seems more precise than the Apple version in recognizing the correct letters. It charges using a USB type C charger. The port (covered with a silicone cap) is located at the top of the pen above the LED lights which show the battery power status. It hasn't happened yet, but I imagine that the charging port cover will be eventually lost though. But it is better than losing the Apple pencil cap, which I have done several times. This pencil comes with 5 replacement nibs so we will probably end up replacing the pencil before we need to purchase additional ones. The only "negative thing" I can say is that I was unable to change the thickness of a line by tilting the pencil at a different angle. I don't draw but to test out this feature for the review, I tried to draw using the Freeform app. All of the lines were the same thickness no matter what angle I held the pencil. Unfortunately since this was my 1st time attempting to draw on the ipad and 1st time using the Freeform app, I can not say whether this is app-related, user error, or a product defect. Overall, I highly recommend this ipad pencil. I got this one for my husband who never had a pencil but I like this one so much, that I am going to purchase one for myself as well.

The pen comes fully charged so I was able to test it out. Works great! Took me ages to figure out how to charge it though. The instructions are soooooo tiny. Took a picture and blew it up 5x. Definitely a good value and works just like an Apple version, but get your magnifying glass out!
