I compared this microscope with the Amscope M150C, which I also own. The photos include both microscopes side by side for reference (this microscope is the smaller of the two). For a gift, or a toy, this is an incredible microscope, and the kit includes so much. For a toy, the microscope is legitimately great quality. It will also work for homeschool purposes, but it is not as good in quality as the school quality M150C. Images through the scope are not as clear, especially at higher magnification. If this purchase is school related, I’d choose a better model. Images were still good, but not as large or clear, in my opinion. If it is for fun, collecting samples, exploring things under the microscope, or any science loving kid as a gift, you cannot go wrong. ... show more

This microscope was nostalgic for me, remembering how much I loved my 1st one. I bought it for my 7 year old science enthusiast Grandson and its a perfect starter set. Comes in a carrying case with everything in place (really appreciated I didnt have to assemble and/or put pieces where they belong). Its lightweight, the detailed instruction manual was also appreciated as it's simple enough he was able to read it on his own. It explains the function of each part of the microscope, care, usage as well as projects to do. I dropped one star because the batteries that came with the set are corroded, like they leaked (though thumbs up for including them). With this im hoping the other items ie. the "Shrimp Hatchery" is not old and unusable. Overall a great purchase! Lighting the path for Dr. Cole! 🤞 ... show more

I am a Homeschool mom and we were very excited about this purchase. This is actually my 2nd IQCrew Microscope because I was going to return the non-camera version to buy this but gifted it to my niece. This one is so promising has way more then the les expensive non-camera in the kit. It has some nice slides, tools and a good intro for kids to microscopes. Today we wanted to look at some hair stands and pulled out the scope, downloaded software easily and connected to the computer. Every magnification had these bubbles of artifact. It is not the camera because if I take the camera off the scope and just flash a light on it the pic is clear. I wiped the lenses, sprayed some canned air and its still there. Now that is not to say you can't use the scope to view the slides provided. It just makes the assignments I planned difficult because is he seeing the item or the artifact. The artifact is a dirty lens somewhere in the turret or the lenses of the microscope. It can be seen with the regular eyepiece or the camera eyepiece. This speaks to an issue during the assembly process which is again disappointing. Not returning it although we are still in the return window because it makes my son happy to use it even with the defect. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Outer boxing undamaged which means that an employee INTENTIONALLY shipped a damaged item. The microscope kit itself seems fairly well built. I am hoping that whatever impact caused the case to dent has not affected the scope.

This is a great starter microscope for my 5 year old son. He loves looking at things and is very much into science. I am taking a star review away because not everything fits well in the case, they fall out of their designated spots. Also I do not like the way the light turns off. You have to flip the light over which my son doesn’t do and ends up putting it away with the light on and the batteries die quickly. I wish there was an on/off button. ... show more

I like everything about this item. Its a great buy. We've looked at everything from blood samples to flower and insect samples. Not so sure about the shrimp brine it came with. we did not get any shrimp from the solution provided. But we simply love the microscope. My son loves this microscope. He loves how it came with science experiments he can do. It keeps him busy for hours. We still have to use the software, but he has been enjoying using it without a laptop
