There was a problem with one of the nightstands however, I contacted the seller and the problem was handled. I am a female in my 60's and had no trouble putting the bed together all by myself. The only tool needed that wasn't provided was a screwdriver. The nightstands were basically preassembled. All I had to do is screw on the legs. The instructions were very easy to follow. It was time consuming but well worth the time. Compared to other sets of this quality found at my local furniture stores, the value of this set is incredible! The mattress does not slide off the edge, feels really sturdy, and makes no noise when moving or getting on and off. ... show more

Although it's pretty, very sturdy and heavy...parts being shipped in separate boxes was obviously the reason for mis aligned screw holes and drilled holes. There were even a few minorly warped boards. This happened a LOT!. Instructions were fairly forthright and I put it together myself so it can be a one person job. Be careful tightening screws as well....they will pull out of the wood fittings if you do. The nightstands are very nice. Already assembled was a plus. ... show more

Two of the holes were poorly drilled. There is a nick in the footboard molding 2/2 the packing. Thank goodness my fiance is handy. This is a beautiful & sturdy bed.

It's a beautiful set and seemed sturdy, but the bed's supporting beams broke completely. My boyfriend and I are only a combined 315 lbs, so the weight limit being 1300 lbs is definitely untrue.
