  • Seems great, poor instructions.
The greenhouse itself seems to be excellent and sturdy, I'll find out for sure after this winter, but the days I was trying to put up the walls we were getting 40mph gusts, so with a bit of temporary bracing to help, I got it up by myself. The instructions were a challenge to say the least, the information is all there but you have to be vigilant in paying attention to inserting screws for future connections, I did a lot of looking ahead to see what the screws I had to insert were going to be used for to ensure I was getting it right. I was shorted about 24 of the main F1 screw/nut combo, but I was able to find a compatible hex screw at the hardware store to complete the greenhouse. One thing not noted was the roof beams have a slot to insert the screws in the track, make sure you put the end with the slot at the peak or you will be constantly reinserting your screws as they will just slide right out at the bottom. Also DO NOT tighten down anything until the end, I had to loosen up a ton of screws on the side walls to be able to put the gutters on at the end as having tightened everything down skewed the wall just enough to prevent me from sliding the gutter easily in it's slot. It took me over a week to fully set up but I built a deck for it to sit on and had to fashion a way to secure the base to the deck, plus I ran electrical underground to put an outlet in it. My lemon trees are happy now that they have a home for the Michigan winter. ... show more

  • You probably will want to alter the directions
This is a good greenhouse. Very sturdy. But I recommend skipping ahead when it comes to standing up the walls. Skip ahead to add bracing otherwise the walls will just flop over. That happened twice during the build. I then decided I can't go strictly by the directions . Happy with the final project.

  • Happy with it! *addendum for 100mph winds
Material Type: black Style: 10x16 FT
So far, I'm very happy with this. It took me a while to pick the right one. We live in north flordia. So, venting and stability are huge importance to me but we don't want a truly perminant structure. I am planning on adding an exhaust vent for summer if we need it. I wanted 6mm panels and I wanted highest wind resistance I could find in a kit. It came down to 2 options for me and this was my choice. This had a coupon which made them the same cost, buy this was bigger with the internal bracing and had better placed vents. Delivery came quickly. Only 1 panel had damage and is still usable, it's just cosmetic. I've not gotten to a request for that yet. Set up, yes it took a while. 2 very savy men took 16 hours. The instructions were a confusing, as others had said. A few times we'd have to go back to somthing we allready did. They mention silicone but no where in the instructions do they say to use it. So know ahead of time if you plan to silicone panels in-do it as you install them! It has internal bracing which I liked. We used 4ft earth anchors instead of what it came with. It does leak a little when it rains from where the walls meet, but I've not silicone yet. I plan on heating in winter on colder nights, so to help with that I am looking at shortening the peak using the bracing to help support a poly wrap for that short term. We are the boarder of 9a, so it does freeze. I have a large tropical collection and we are growing fruit, veggies and trees for the first time. We plan on putting in butterflies and creating our own little ecosystem (my daughter is using this for school projects). I am happy to add more as time goes on. So far, this has been a good purchase. ***addendum, I know how hard picking your greenhouse can be. I also know how difficult foundation choice can be. We are in North Flordia and JUST went through 100mph winds from Hellene, yes 100 MPH. We used 4ft ground anchors to secure it in the ground and I taped the front door (one side wobbles open and closed) to help prevent shaking from the wind. We don't want perminant, so we did not concrete or boarder. I was so afraid to see it this morning. There is debris and huge trees everywhere... my greenhouse is totally secure. Picking location had a lot to do with it I think... but, every pannel is in place and it is standing! Highly recommended! Last addendum as we start winter here. I dropped the cealing to 6ft for insulation purposes. I do run a heater, but this greenhouse needs more BTU than mine can keep up with. (There are calculators for this! Google it). Dropping the cealing cut a large amount off my needs. We used greenhouse plastic and peracord, looping around the bracing and it's worked well so far. As prior stated, venting is important to me. I needed somthing i can easily move on really warm days. So the plastic rolls up easy. Deffinatly do a btu calculator before winter to know your individual area needs. ... show more

  • Solid greenhouse when completed
Material Type: black Style: 10x16 FT
As others have mentioned, the assembly instructions are pretty minimal. They are strictly graphic images set in sequential order. Pay close attention to every step that mentions inserting the F1 bolts into slots prior to installing a structural component. If you miss this step, you’ll be taking components apart later to insert them. (Like I did) In some cases, the disassembly was too extensive to bother with. I resorted to using a Dremel with a de-burring bit to create my own insert slots in the channels of the necessary components. Some of the parts, such as many (but not all) of the wall and roof channels have a notch in the track that the bolts can be slipped into. These notches are what I copied to make it easy to add bolts rather than disassembling. When all was completed, I didn’t have any left-over parts or hardware, so it’s all in place. The greenhouse feels pretty stout. The mfg. states it will bear 30lbs/sq. ft of snow load and handle 80 mph wind gusts. I’m at 7000’ in Colorado. Both these claims will be tested. Lastly, I’ve been contemplating using a high quality, high UV resistant silicone sealant to seal the polycarbonate panels into the tracks. I’m holding off on this step until I’ve given it more thought and considered the down sides (such as when I may need to remove and replace panels. Perhaps I try a few and see how things go. I would have given the product a better score if only the assembly instructions were better written and easier to follow. At the most difficult stage of construction, completing the walls and getting the roof components assembled, we had as many as four people involved to hold things in place while we attached other pieces to secure them. Altogether, it took about 12 -15 hours to assemble, not including the base track. I built this house on a concrete patio and fastened treated 2x4’s to the concrete with Tapcon screws, then secured the base track to the wood with aluminum clips. That process added about 4 hrs. ... show more

  • The window panels are as thick as I thought they would be
I like it I have not put it together yet but the window panels did not seem to be as thick as I thought they would be and the metal framework does look okay though not sure it'll hold up well in weather may have to give it extra support I live in a snowy area
