I was shocked that the tank bolts and seal weren't included to attach the two American Standard products, tank and matching bowl, together, so lost a star for the trip to the hardware store mid replacement. After adding the cost of this basic hardware and a toilet seat, the true cost is a bit higher than first appeared vs competition. I already purchased the new wax seal, flange bolts, and water supply line ahead of time, but not including the tank bolts/seal surprised me. ... show more

    • Only received half a toilet
The bowl looks great and is as expected. Unfortunately I was only sent a bowl by Amazon. I just called American Standard and they will be sending me a tank and wax seal kit. I am giving a good rating because of American Standard helping.

    • The product is okay but has issues.

The toilet is fine but I have two issues. It did not come with the bolt caps that are pictured and the product is not newly manufactured. The plumber said it was manufactured almost a year and half ago. I expect new as in just manufactured not sat on a shelf somewhere. There is evidence of the beginning of dry rot on the flush valve and feel that the seller should send me another one as this one will fail sooner than it should. Yes, it is technically new and unused but I have no idea how it was stored until now. Also the toilet seat is not included. This picture is not an accurate description of the product. ... show more

I can't speak to ease of install as i left that to a plumber.... but plumber recommended i get American Standard fixtures. Imagine my surprise when i realized i could get them on Amazon, they were comparably priced to local big box store AND they wete delivered to my front door! I bought 2, different colors. I needed to replace two toilets, so I decided to try American standard. I bought two. Great product, great price. You need to shop around as prices vary.     • Well Engineered and Well Built
The toilet is far superior and more economical that the 1979 vintage 3.5 gallon toilet that it replaced. At full water level, it uses 1.6 gallons per flush as billed. However, by the adjusting water level in the tank, it can be made to use less water per flush. I believe that I have adjusted mine to use around 1.3-1.4 gallons per flush. At any rate, this toilet provides a quick, powerful and effective flush. Also, at 16" high, the toilet is 1" higher that the toilet it replaced.
