Description

Engineered to prevent clogs, the Champion PRO Chair-Height Elongated Toilet from American Standard brings powerful performance designed to help eliminate clogging. Tested and proven to flush a bucket of golf balls, this water-saving toilet uses 1.28 gpf (4.8 Lpf) in combination with a large 4-in. flush valve to effectively clear the bowl. Designed to help improve cleanliness, the Champion PRO toilet features a PowerWash® rim to scrub the bowl and EverClean® surface. Seat is sold separately. From the Manufacturer Water Conservation with out compromise. American Standard's HET (High Efficiency Toilets) flush on 1.28GPF or less every flush. The Champion PRO uses the same Champion 4 flushing technology yet only uses approximately 1.28gpf vice 1.6. When flushing, it may not look like much power, but somehow it works perfectly, just hold the handle down until the flush is complete for max power. The styling is nice, it doesn't clog, and the assembly was simple. I only noticed there were directions after I completed the install/swap out, by myself, in about 45 minutes. I don't usually fix things myself around the house, so this should tell you how easy it was. I will only ever buy the American Standard Champion series, and the same goes for my parents and my brother's family. Only negative comment for the item: It is odd that the flush handle is curved down rather than up, allowing the users hand to slip off once in a while, but I plan on replacing it anyway down the road to match the bathroom hardware. Negative comment for Amazon shipping: The first item was broken to bits upon arrival, while still in the box, so I am returning it. For some reason I must return both boxes (tank & bowl) vice just the bowl, then pay for my own shipping, and work with Amazon to be re-imbursed. I have made two other purchases of this same item, and one of them was broken at arrival as well. Still a great product, just the packaging method should be improved. ... show more

This is a very low water consumption toilet. It flushes very well, especially for the small amount of water. However, being such a low flow toilet has it problems too. There is insufficient water to adequately wash the bowl during the flush cycle, hence the bowl requires very, very frequent cleaning. This toilet is awesome. Just as described. A good powerful flush and it's not noisy as I had read in some of the reviews, and it doesn't run as long to fill as the other toilets. My grandchildren no longer overflow the toilet, which was the purpose of me trying this one in the first place. I am going to replace all of the toilets in my house with this same American Standard.     • A toilet worth raving about

This was our second Champion Pro (and second with the round front). The first, bought 7 months ago, had some issues with the flapper leaking that took a while to finally fix. Once that issue was resolved, though, we LOVE THIS TOILET. It flushes like a champ. We have teenagers who would routinely plug all our older toilets. Not anymore! We have knee problems in the family that made getting on and off our older, shorter toilets a literal pain. Not anymore! Our older toilets used to start smelling the day after we cleaned them. Not anymore! The anti-microbial surface really helps with this, I think. Our second Champion Pro (this one) has been a champ from the start. This one took me less than 30 minutes to install (not including the time to remove the older toilet, or fix the rusting-off grooves on the "exhaust" pipe flange). My wife loves the look of the round front, and the modest profile. With the Mayfair wooden slow-close toilet seat (which is also PHENOMENAL), this is a winning combo. We couldn't be happier. And I'm almost not embarrassed to have expressed these opinions about a toilet. ... show more

This product is great- hands down the finest crapper you will buy. BUT---- They shipped me just the bowl. They made it "Right" by ordering me a tank to go with it, but it was backordered for a couple weeks and then they shipped it on the back of the slowest donkey they could find.     • Great toilet, but flush valve keeps leaking!

This toilet is great for a 6' 6" man who needs a big powerful toilet. No complaints about the operation of the toilet. However, after 6 months, the rubber gasket around the flush valve started leaking (causing the toilet to run every 5 to 10 minutes). After another six months, it started leaking and running AGAIN, so I replaced the gasket again. The first time I called American Standard 6 months ago, the operator acknowledged that this was an extremely common problem and they sent me a replacement gasket for free. This time I replaced the gasket because I knew what to do, and then I called them again to see if they would give me another gasket or two. However, the operator did not believe it was a leaking gasket, said they only leak after 10 years, and decided to send me a replacement flush valve kit and a tank to bowl kit. I have to say it is still nice that they answer after 1 ring and try to be helpful and send out replacement parts free of charge, even if this particular operator is wrong and offering parts that are irrelevant. In conclusion, if you want a great toilet that requires you to take apart the flush valve and replace a gasket every 6 months, and maybe you'll get the gasket for free, or maybe you'll have to buy it for $10, this is the toilet for you. ... show more

Best toilet you can buy for your home. Here are two reasons why it’s the best: 1) Largest flush valve in the industry at 4inches. So more water clean rushes into the bowl at a faster rate. Industry standard is only 2 inches. Toto and Kohler’s best only go up to 3 inches. 2) Largest waste bowl trap in the in the Industry at 2 3/8 inches. Industry standard again is only 2 inches. Toto and Kohler only goes up to 2 1/3 inch. So bigger Valve and bigger trap means less clogging and less plunging. Looks good, quiet and appears to flush everything as advertised. Higher seat take some getting used to but we are getting more comfortable with it and it is definitely easier to on old knees. 2 downsides. the 1.28 gallon does not always clean the bowl and the top tanllid is crowned inthe center but does not drop odff evenly on both sides so it looks uneven. ... show more
