Description

American Lawn Mower Company 16-Inch 5-Blade Push Reel Lawn Mower is a green alternative to gas-powered lawnmowers. Moreover, this lawn mower is easy to use and does not emit fumes. It can cut your lawn in a precise scissor-like motion that will not shred your grass to make your lawn appear better. This reel lawn mower has a low maintenance hassle-free design that only requires to be sharpened at least once every 3-5 years. Perfect for youths over the age of 13 and compact yards. When you buy it, you won’t have to worry about fuel, maintenance, and repairs that make this push blade mower a smart choice. In these modern times, where channel surfing is rapidly becoming the nation’s most popular sport, the American Lawn Mower Company suggests to return to a simpler time with this hand push reel mower. The mower runs solely on manpower, thus saving valuable resources such as gasoline, oil, and electricity while simultaneously eliminating the noise and air pollutions frequently associated with fuel-run lawn mowers. Additionally, this mower combines necessary yard work with exercise, improving both the user’s lawn and cardiovascular health. Owners of hand push mowers also benefit from a lack of fuel expenses, and may also save by allowing grass clippings to mulch for natural fertilization. This hand push mower provides best results when used on grasses no longer than 3 to 4 inches high. Regular lubrication of the bearings and blades with WD-40 further the success of this mower. The mower features four spider five blades, ball bearing reel. With an adjustable four-section roller, the mower has a cutting length range of 1/2 to 2-1/4 inches. Both the reel and blades are constructed from tempered alloy steel and are held in place by an unbreakable steel plate. The wheels measure 10 inches in diameter and the mower covers a width of 16 inches. The mower weighs 32 pounds upon shipping with some assembly required. --Jessica Reuling

  • Fantastic mower
Size: 18-Inch, 5-Blade
Well first of all I am 72 years old and 112 lbs and to live alone with my four dogs. This lawn mower is so nice and I can push it with just one hand! It glides through the grass like butter and I wish I had bought it years ago. But I have it now and in fact I just got through cutting my grass and It looks beautiful. I actually don't mind cutting the grass even in 80° heat. The other one I had has a catcher for the grass but as you cut I would have to stop, turn around, tilt the mower and walk back in order for it to throw the clippings out Because as the clipping collected it got harder to push. Grass clippings are great for your yard. This lawn mower has a small catcher and it does collect grass but nowhere near like the other one I have. The clippings just fly over and onto your grass and now and then I do have to turn around and let the clippings that have been collected back into my yard. I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with this mower! I did have difficulty putting it together though. Getting that handle around those bolts is a b!tch. I had to turn the mower on its side and lean against The handle pushing as hard as I could and with my free hands lift the handle and try to get it to go over the bolts. I had to stop several times because I mean that's difficult if you're not a strong person. The rest of it was a breeze. It's quiet It cuts well and I also ordered one of the handheld sharpeners for when the blade gets dull I can sharpen them. 😁 I highly recommend getting this mower If you are a single woman you can do your grass with no problem and will wonder why you ever had a man do it for you. 🤷 ... show more

  • Great for small yards
Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
I live in an apartment complex and our maintenance guys don’t really cut the grass that often and when they do, they do a horrible job so I got this as an alternative so I could just cut my own grass! I have a small back yard and front yard space so this is perfect for what I need it for! It gets stuck sometimes on sticks or if you have a bumpy yard but it doesn’t bother me, I just reverse it and then keep going! I was super hesitant to purchase once I read the reviews but I’m so happy I bought this! ... show more

  • Great Mower for Small to Medium Lawns
Size: 14-Inch, 5-Blade
I have a small lawn, and this allows for a quick and easy way to cut it! It is minimal maintenance, with you needing to sharpen the blades after a year or two. It doesn't take much effort to get the blades going. Its adjustable guard helps with all different types of grass types and sizes! The only thing I would change is the addition of a basket to catch the grass. There are some online, but everyone I've tried thus far, whether it has been official or not, has either broken due to weak material or didn't work altogether. All around, it is a great mower and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Product and packaging is outstanding!
Size: 18-Inch, 5-Blade
This is the best product I’ve ever bought American made. I think at least it’s got American label on it and I can’t explain how well this is built and also the box that it comes in is so well made. I taped it up and kept it.. I did one cut in my backyard and it trim the grass better than a power mower. Fine clippings, and perfect trimming. The only complaint I have is that when a branch gets caught in it everything stops you need to manually remove it other than that. This little machine is amazing and so is the product and packaging. ... show more

  • Not a replacement for power mower
Size: 18-Inch, 5-Blade
The lower bars have no pins to attach to the reel without using some strength to bend the bars into place. This is more of a grass trimmer than a mower and not a replacement for power mower. It’s difficult to mow without getting blades stuck with grass and even small pieces of mulch. Also cannot get into corners and fence edges because wheels and handles get in the way. It was easier to use pulling backwards with the rollers in front but will cut at higher height and also need to make multiple passes or cross hatch. Good for getting a sweaty workout and to get your steps in. What I pay for yard service is worth the price instead of DIY with this trimmer but will keep it for occasional yard maintenance without getting gas or power equipment. ... show more

  • I love this little mower!
So I'm in my early 60's and I'm a little widow woman. I had no idea how closely my neighbors have been watching me, but since I bought this thing, they have been coming over to mow my lawn and and the front area by the street, which is strange because this little mower is great! Is my lawn level? No! But this really does a nice job. I read the reviews where people said it gets hung up and you have to stop, etc. I haven't experienced this, or really very little of it. The few times it hung up, if I pulled it backwards for a sec, it cleared itself. It's not hard to push at all, and really goes through what I consider pretty thick grass. It's quiet and I dont feel like I'm waking the neighbors early on the weekends when I use it. I purchased this because I dont want to fool with gas cans or electric cords, and I'm not disappointed at all! ... show more

  • Outstanding purchase
Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
I bought 2 of these now. I'm a 49 year old woman that's had spinal surgery. I pay local kids to mow the property, but the fenced in areas for the dog, I do myself. This machine is phenomenal. Not hard to use at all. The only issue would be not to let the lawn get too tall or it's a work out. If you stay on it, it's a breeze and actually fun to use. It's so fun that my adult son wanted one too. He uses it on his whole lawn and loves it. There's something to be said for going back to the simple things. I'D GIVE THIS 10 STARS IF I COULD. ... show more

  • Great for small yards.
Size: 14-Inch, 5-Blade with Sharpener
Have a small flat yard or small area to mow? This is a good item to use for that and it is a small workout since it is you are pushing it and such. I got this for three reasons mostly. 1. Small and easy to set up and easy to store. 2. Kind of nice workout for me and silent and saves money on gas. 3. Light and durable. Keep in mind you will need to go over areas a couple times depending on your pace. Plus if you let your grass grow tall, this will not be ideal. ... show more
