    • Buy it! Easy to assemble. More effective than I thought it would be.

This mower took down 3 foot tall weeds, natural grasses, clover and grass that was over 5 inches tall. It was also soggy out since it never stops raining here during summer. I always wait for dry spells but sometimes have to mow in less than ideal conditions. This little mower keeps up and performs better than promised. I use a paint brush to clean damp grass off the blades, dry the whole thing, add grease and that's all the maintenance it needs until it's time to sharpen the blades. My gas mower gets choked out by the lawn when the turf is wet and I'd rather use muscle occasionally than keep ruining motors. I consider the hard work as a workout and skip the gym after a mow. So, out of the box, I noticed that the mower already had some grass stains and bits of grass on it. I was a little annoyed because I thought I was buying a new mower. Maybe this one was resold after being returned. I will say, however, that it works great. It is lightweight, easy to push, sharp, and very maneuverable. It does a nice job cutting my lawn. I'm very pleased with this mower, and feel like I got really good value on this purchase. Assembled by myself in about 10 minutes. And it's very sharp right out of the box, and easy to clean, so it should stay sharp for a good long while. Cuts grass that's too tall for a motorized mower to get through, and a second pass mulched it well enough that there was no dead dried-out grass lying around the next day. When we keep up with mowing, our (admittedly quite small) yards only take ~20 minutes each, and because there's no motor I can easily listen to podcasts/audiobooks/music while mowing. It's quite lightweight and easy to maneuver, too, so it honestly barely feels like work to do the lawn. Which is good, because we are NOT lawn people. But this little mower makes our lawn look nice enough to fit into our neighborhood of people who are lawn people with minimal effort - what more can you ask for? P.S. I've had 2 people comment on how well this mower works in the couple months we've been using it. On two separate occasions, a dog walker and a UPS delivery person stopped to tell me how surprising it was to see someone using a reel mower with grass clippings flying up around them as they mowed, and how much better it seems to work than any other reel mower they've seen. We live on mountain surrounded by woods and though we have made lots of hiking trails we have never had any grass. We hate, hate, hate yard work. We bought the house because it had a lot of land and no 'yard.' We have an upper and lower deck on our house and we decided to extend the lower deck into the yard a bit with a small area for a few more chairs and a fire pit. I was reluctant to add potted flowers because they have to tended. Did I mention we hate yard work? After I added the flowers that either the rabbits or the deer will eventually eat, if the bugs don't do them in first (we never use chemicals around our house), I got the bright idea to buy some sod and extend the area out further. The grass grew beautifully but now we are fighting moles and grass moths that are eating the grass. Ugh! I had almost forgotten why I hated yard work. Anyway, after the grass got long enough to cut, hubby tried using a weed eater and, of course, it left the area choppy. We thought about buying a small power mower but that would require oil, gas, and more work. I thought about the old push manual we used to have when I was kid (showing my age) and wondered if they still made them. Seems a lot of people are using them for small yards. So, my review, a little late in this post, is...We are very happy with this mower. It is light, pushes like a dream, and cuts the grass at exactly the height hubby set the blades to. We would recommend this. Make sure you have a can of WD40 and give the blades a light coating after a cut. It will extend the life of the blades. I was so disappointed it would not cut through the Zoysia grass. It kept getting stuck because the grass is so thick. I’m sure it would work perfectly on a normal grass lawn.

I’ve had this mover for a few months now. It’s super light weight and easy to use. The blades are super sharp, but do have their limits depending and how much grass is being cut. I’ve tested a few of the heights and came to the conclusion that this mower can not handle the shorter cuts. The rollers bounce making the blade leave chop marks on the lawn.
