I have been a big coffee connoisseur (whew, good thing Alexa could spell that for me) and I do like a bold coffee, the stronger the better! If you're curious about that, the bolder coffees are much better for asthmatics like myself. Anyway I've tried out MANY different brands of bold coffee and yes even Starbucks coffee beans as well. We love this whole bean light roast coffee. IMO whole bean light roast coffee is surprisingly difficult to find most places. 1 star off for Amazon shipping, which sent this coffee in a flimsy bag that obviously had something dropped on it which made the coffee bag open EVERYWHERE in the mailing bag and subsequently in my living room. This review would be longer except I need to vacuum up all the sad coffee beans. :( ... show more

    • Great coffee but bags are open and beans spilled in the box
I've been ordering this coffee for many months and love the smooth taste however, the last 4 times I received my order, the bags were open and my beans spilled all over the bottom of the box, the black strip for each bag is ripped off! The whole beans allow me to customize the grind to a coarser feel, and grinding it myself assures freshness. This works great for a daily "utility" coffee. My wife and I both prefer this over the big "S" brand stuff. We certainly have our "treat" coffee that's much more expensive, but for the morning wake up, this stuff fits the bill prefectly.

The packaging, the air tight, the freshness and the beans were whole non broken. The roasting was overdone the shade of brown was closer to black than it was to a lighter brown, sign of a "proper" roasted bean medium grade.
