I really like this case for my Scribe. I bought a Kindle Scribe during the Prime Day sale, and I knew I needed a case for it. I have the Kindle case for my Paperwhite made of the same material and color, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was a little apprehensive about the flip-cover nature of the case and the pen loop being located where it is, but it turns out to make the most sense for a device of this size and type. Since the auto rotate of the screen is locked into either portrait or landscape, then switching handles while reading and the case is open is very comfortable. and since it's a flip case, the magnet on the premium pen locks on the side for easy access whether the case is open or not. Also, another thing to note: the Scribe is attached to the case via magnets. I read other reviews saying the magnets weren't strong enough and there was worry about the Scribe falling out of the case too easily. But honestly, that sucker is in there fairly tight. I have no concerns with it accidentally falling out. Also, there were some other reviewers showing the material on the case fraying quickly. I haven't had the folio case long enough to really weigh in on my experience with the Scribe, but I have the Kindle Paperwhite case of the same material and it's been solid for a while (more than seven months). I also have a fabric case for my Kindle 10th Edition that's years old that is still appearing almost like new. So I'm happy with my purchase. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice. The cost is a bit more than I'd like to spend, but based on cases of the same material from years past, I'm happy with it.

This cover, which esthetically is quite appealing, doesn't work well for those who need to protect the device, as many reviews point out. The reader is attached magnetically and can fall out if you're not careful. But if, like me, you want to use the bare Scribe for reading most of the time (because it's quite light that way) but also need it supported on a table for reading and writing occasionally, this cover is perfect—the reader snaps in and out magnetically very easily. I do not want a cover that makes you struggle to remove the reader, as most of the protective covers do.

When it comes to covers for any device, you have to decide on what's important for YOU. Protective... fashionable... unique functions... etc. I'm pretty good with most of my devices, the only one I'm sure to make sure has decent protection is my phone, as it's quite simply used more often in more instances, and more prone to damage. I say that because of the way the Scribe sits in these covers (I've tested other ones as well, and this was the right one for me). Cases for the Scribe seem to have VERY different functionalities, and sharper pros vs. cons because of that. With the Scribe being more of a portrait-style device, having a cover that "flips up" rather than to the side is a difference maker, and one you have to decide what works better for your purposes. I love the way that it attaches with just magnets, making it quickly and easily removable for hand-holding note-taking (sheds the cumbersome cover while holding it over my lap while sitting). This design fits perfect and keeps the cover significantly lighter than similar designs that secure the Scribe with some kind of backing that the Scribe fits into. However... if you were to accidentally drop your Scribe on an edge (as opposed to flat), my confidence level of protection of this cover is not high, as I can see the Scribe getting bounced out with the impact, as compared to ones where the case is securing the Scribe. For me, not a deal-breaker, but if you can see your usage requiring more protection, that would be something to consider. The other item of concern (and the reason for not being 5 stars), is a weird feel when sitting out in the sun with it. The edges of the cover *feel* like they are melting (they aren't, at least not yet). Once brought back indoors, it feels like normal again. I've seen comments about durability, we'lll see how this holds up... but after a month, so far, so good.

Between work and various personal writing/design projects, I used to go through a lot (and I mean A LOT) of paper notepads. I've been looking for an electronic solution that would allow me to keep my handwritten notes all in one place so I don't have to go rifling through 80 different pads (not to mention the waste, cost, and clutter of all that paper), but nothing really stuck out - products like Remarkable require a subscription, others don't have the tactile writing experience I wanted. The Kindle Scribe absolutely fits the bill. And it has only gotten more useful now that they pushed an update including different pen tips and allowing sub-folders. Things I use it for/Pros are: - Keeping my handwritten notes organized and in one place. - Taking notes on PDFs (game reference sheets, academic articles, etc.). - Checklists and general organization. - Basic line drawings, sketches, and diagrams. - Reading PDFs and and my Kindle library. - Emailing myself notes/sketches as PDFs. Things it is NOT good for/Cons: - You can do some basic drawing on this, but it is NOT an artist's drawing tablet. - Currently, you can only add note tags to Kindle books rather than marking over the page with handwritten notes. May be more of an issue for some than others. - It has a very basic web browser, but it is really not meant for surfing. - It is a little bit heavy compared to other Kindles - which makes sense given that it is larger - but this does make it holding up while reading in bed, for example, a bit awkward. Suggestions for future updates: - Additional standard note templates (hex graph paper, please!), and the ability to upload new, custom templates. - Ability to switch between templates within a single notebook. Overall: A bit pricey, but so far not an ounce of regret regarding this purchase. May not be for everyone, so make sure it fits your needs before purchase (i.e. it is NOT a general-use tablet), but if your requirements are anything like mine, I highly recommend.

Fits my Scribe perfectly. I've had it for over 2 years now. Has been very durable, though I just use it around the house, inside and out, and on travel. I like that it holds the pen physically securely not just via a magnet. The stand holds it at a good angle for me to read and keeps it out of the way of others at the table.

Best case ever! I've never tried the Amazon case before because of the price. But I was able to nail it during Prime Day. I feel amazed by the quality and the lightweight of the product. It can hold my Kindle Scribe perfectly magnetically. The fit is just right. If possible, I would give more than 5 stars.

How has this case held up over 2 years? It kinda hasn’t. It is stained and, no matter what I try, it will not come clean. The pen holder has stretched and the pen, as feared, slipped out and is gone. Slight movement makes the Kindle pop off the magnets. It was cute and had an okay price, but it could have been better.

This is the fifth case or sleeve I've tried for the Scribe. This is the one I'll keep for sure. Pros: (1) The pen holds steady in the loop, not floppy like the cheaper knock-offs. OR you can keep the pen magnetically on the side because the case covers the pen just enough to keep it from getting bumped too easily. (2) The Scribe pops in easily because of the magnets. And yes, it hods SECURELY. Not sure what these people who complain about that are talking about. Maybe don't go jogging while holding it. It's quite secure for normal use. (3) The options for using the stands are great. Low for note taking, high for reading. Simple and secure. The magnets help here, too. Follow the instructions and using like you're supposed to and all will be right with the world. (4) Open flap hold cover in place. Yep... magnets again. Not only when closed, but also when open. Nice and secure when reading or writing. Not flopping around like the cheap one. (5) Super light. Adds very little weight to the Scribe. (6) Quality look and feel. It's an expensive device, and this cover reflects that. Cons: (1) Edges are a bit sharp. But maybe it's because I'm a delicate flower with soft hands. (2) Not much drop protection. But again, that's not what it's made for. If you plan to drop it, the case is super slim, so you could put it in a sleeve when traveling.
