  • Light, perfectly fitted, ergonomic and attractive
This cover fits Kindle Classic like a proverbial glove. The rubber sleeve encapsulates the outer edges of the device in such a way that no debris can get underneath, and the rubber does not infringe on the beautiful frame of the device. The cover has perfect cut-outs for page turning buttons, the on-off button and the charging port. The cover is thin and sparse adding only minimal weight to the Kindle (in contrast to Kindle Keyboard's cover, which is a moose both in bulk and in weight). The leather is glossy and of good quality. The cover bends back easily (again, unlike its Kindle Keyboard's counterpart) to enable holding the Kindle as if it was cover-less. It protects the device while adding to its attractiveness. It is a little tricky to properly position the Kindle inside this cover, so before you start, look at the drawing that comes with the cover, as it is really helpful. It is easy to accidentally bend back the edges of the rubber while inserting the device incorrectly. Also, it is rather difficult to remove the Kindle from this cover, which isn't a problem if you like to keep yours in at all times. However, if you like to take your Kindle Classic in and out - you might find it annoying. I am very pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Outstanding Look, Feel and Workmanship
Color: Black
I'm not going to go into a detailed description of the product as this was well done by other reviewers. I wanted to take the time to leave a very positive review for this product because the quality of this cover really impressed me. I was reluctant to spend $40 for a cover, too, but I took my chances and I'm so glad I did. The device fits perfectly in the hard rubber interior of the cover and won't move at all (in addition to being protected all around the edges, with openings for the USB/Power button and the page forward/back buttons on both sides of the device). The leather and stitches are beautifully finished and this cover really has a classy look and a secure feel. I am happy to say that I got what I paid for, in a good way! The cover doesn't add much weight to the device and can easily be held open for reading with one hand. I recommend spending a few extra bucks for this really nice accessory. I got the green version, which is actually a bit darker than on the official product picture. The leather is olive green, not apple green. Finally, here is my original contribution: the cover closed WITH the device inside (Kindle 4, Wi-Fi, 6") and securely fitted weighs exactly 275 grams or 9.70 ounces, just in case you were wondering. ... show more

  • Leather Amazon Kindle Cover
Color: Black
This is fantastic value for money. The leather looks, feels and smells great. It does not really make the Kindle any bulkier (it still fits in my pocket), but it does make the Kindle look like a high-end luxury item. THIS GENUINE Amazon cover fits the Kindle into a high quality dense rubber border instead. This protects the corners from bumps and scratches and looks very neat. It is practically invisible. The fit is so snug, the Kindle and the cover basically become one item. It is still very easy to insert and remove the Kindle, but it won't fall out accidentally. The inside cover has soft felt to protect the screen and the front flap is stiff enough that it allows you to hold the Kindle as one would hold a hard-cover book. (I don't doubt that the stiffness also helps protect the screen. The leather outer can be treated with leather food and I am sure that with time and traveling it will age nicely. The basic Kindle is reasonably well made for the price, but not as tough as a mobile phone. If you need a cover for your phone, you definitely will need a cover for your Kindle! Do not be tempted to buy an aftermarket cover. ... show more

  • Over priced and plasticy
My title says it all. Bought my first ereader (a kindle touch with adverts) and bought this case to go with it. When the touch arrived this week, I realized I mistakenly ordered the wrong size cover. Not really a problem, because I didn't like it that much to begin with. So I had the perfect excuse/motivation to actually return it and not just live with it. On to my review of the case: Like others have stated, it does not even seem like real leather, it is hard and plastic like. It is very slippery instead of a soft leather that would be nice to hold. I guess this is probably a design choice they made to create a cover that would be more durable. The stiffness prevents you from easily folding the cover around to the back. Perhaps it would have broken in like a new baseball glove, but I can't say for sure. The color to me, also, is a little off. I would have preferred a slightly darker brown, rather than the mustardy brown. But the most irksome part of it all was the cost. I mean really, when you get this thing in your hands your first thought is, I paid $40 for this thing? So I looked around on Amazon and found the Marware covers. Ordered a black one that arrived yesterday. $30 (still a little steep) but much nice feel and look. A strap to keep it closed, a strap to slide your hand into, and a nice soft leather. All that said, I am buying a reader for my wife, and popping for the Amazon cover that includes the night light. She does a lot of reading in bed and I can't find anything that compares to that cover with the led light. Decided to get the burgundy color though. Hope this helps someone. ... show more
