I won't lie. I LOVE Kindles. I've had them for years, pre-Paperwhite, then Paperwhite, and I recently bought a small (well, smallER) Kindle to keep in my purse. As well as my regular one on my nightstand. And I am thrilled about this color one. First of all--it's a kid's Kindle, so if you are a parent getting one for your kids, it comes with a year's subscription to Amazon kids (renewable but also cancellable) at any time, and the parental controls are very thorough---if you are a parent considering one for your child, rest assured you can set limitations on time and times used, material downloaded, etc. However, if you are an adult, you don't have to worry about that. You can just enjoy a Kindle where your book covers are in color, and maps and travelogues can be really appreciated. I'm especially excited because I have quite a few cookbooks on my Kindle, and now the food photos are in color! I know I could use a tablet for color pix, but the battery doesn't last as long in the tablet, and I just enjoy the size of my Kindle. Hubby is laughing because I'm jumping around like an excited child with a new toy. Well, it IS a kid's Kindle.....

We absolutely love the Kindle Colorsoft Kids! I got this for my child to try who’s really into graphic novels and picture books, and the color screen makes such a big difference—it brings the pages to life in a way the regular Kindle just can’t. It’s still super easy on the eyes (no glare at all), and I love that it’s not a tablet—so no games or videos to distract from reading. The included Kids+ subscription is packed with great books and audiobooks, and it’s been amazing watching my child actually ask to read! As a parent, I really appreciate all the thoughtful features—things like the Vocabulary Builder, the dyslexia-friendly font, and the reading progress tracking. The case it comes with is cute and durable, and the two-year worry-free guarantee gives me so much peace of mind. Battery life has been great so far, and USB-C charging is super convenient. If your kid is into colorful stories or comics, this Kindle is totally worth the upgrade!

The media could not be loaded. This Kindle Colorsoft is simply stunning! While this is technically the "kids" version, it can easily be used by adults. This really is an e-reader for the whole family! I have the traditional Kindle Paperwhite, and there is no comparison. The Colorsoft wins hands-down! Colors have the ability to bring a book to life, making it as close to holding a traditional book as possible. I noticed absolutely no difference in the performance, just a phenomenally improved visual experience. The cover is super cute, and the included 1yr subscription to Amazon Kids+ is a great deal. From kids books, to graphic novels, to cookbooks, to travel guides, the Kindle Colorsoft brings your reading to the next level. I cannot recommend it enough!

"Colorsoft" makes the colors mellow, not too sharp/vivid, so it's easy on your eyes. The size is great for kids and adults as well, and the cover is of top quality with excellent color and design. It's a bonus to have a 1-year unlimited subscription to Amazon Kids+, which is very generous. There is a parental control so kids can browse and request books only when you allow them to. Also, a good thing is that you have access to your own Kindle library when you set your child's library under your regular Amazon account. When kids are not using it, you can borrow and read yours on the same device. This device has a good WiFi connection, so you can browse the internet and download more books. Carry this in your purse for anytime entertainment for you and your kids. Color books are great, especially for kids. This is worth your investment.
