  • Great TV - Great price
Size: 50-inch Configuration: TV only
Just purchased the Fire TV 50" Omni. Everything went very well. Prime delivery was fast and the TV was placed at the front door by UPS. Packaging is solid but TV is easy to unbox. Setup was simple. We just attached the feet, connected the cables (power and ethernet), plugged it in and hit the power button...after several software updates, it was ready to go. App setup and installation was very easy compared to another TVs I am familiar with. Picture quality with default settings is excellent. TV speakers also sound really good as compared to other similar / larger TVs. The remote is small (Amazon style) but it works well. The built-in Alexa also works flawlessly with no setup if you already have an Amazon account and use Alexa devices. We have used the TV Alexa to turn on / off the TV, select APPS, and set a thermostat - it works just like an Echo device. The Alexa module at the front bottom of the TV has an on-off switch if you don't want it listening. Only issue we had was that the HDMI ARC audio (through the receiver) did not work for Netflix with the default "auto" detection feature in audio settings. The "auto" setting is supposed to optimize the HDMI ARC output to the source. This HDMI ARC setting did not work for Netflix. The audio was choppy...made a sound like tapping on a table...really strange... Netflix audio through TV speakers was fine and HDMI ARC audio for other APPS (Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max) all worked as well. I couldn't find information on this problem online so experimented with settings. FIX - found that changing the audio output for the HDMI ARC to Dolby Digital solved the problem, and now Netflix sounds perfect. Not sure why the "auto" setting is not compatible with Netflix but am happy that it could be resolved so easily. I wonder if others are having that problem too... Overall, this is a great TV and Amazon is selling it at a terrific price. We are happy with the purchase and would buy it again. ... show more

  • Sped up images but good graphics large screen
Size: 55-inch Configuration: TV only
The images are sped up like on some of the 4k tvs simply hold home button, go to pictures, advanced, and then take smoothing down to zero to decrease this some ppl hate it I hate it it's an issue with some 4k tvs. Graphics are good Alexa is responsive, altogether it's a good tv. My only complaint is the ups man who was acting shifty on giving me my tv said no one was home the first time when he tried to leave it and said he left a slip my mom watched him look at her and drive off then he tried to do the same thing with my husband the next day it didn't work cuz my husband stopped his truck and then he looked sad when he had to unload it so I don't know if he was just being lazy or trying to steal it by saying it got lost on its way back to amazon since ups only tries to deliver twice before sending it back. So make sure someone's home watching for it cuz some ppl r dishonest. It comes in a fire tv marked box so there's no guessing what's in it. Altogether I love the tv so far packaging removal wasn't a Hassel, set up is normal if you already have smart devices in your home like I do then setting up is even easier since you can link it to your other amazon devices. Plus 300 for a 4k 55 inch is a really good price. It took me 15 minutes max for set up probably closer to ten. The rest of the ppl on here complaining need to realize you got a 300 dollar 55 inch tv. It's not Samsung, or Sony, or a high end LG it is Amazon's first attempt at a television it's not perfect and it's going to need twerking. You didn't spend 1000 on a large tv u got a cheap 55 inch and as such I do give it five stars because price is on point, you can control the device using your voice without a remote, image is good, it's very responsive and not slow on load so you get what you pay for if you want to complain about little things get a more expensive tv. ... show more

  • Great quality when grabbed at the right price
Size: 50-inch Configuration: TV only
I have had this TV 3 years now. For the price I paid (bought during prime day), it was well worth it. The non-sale price is MUCH higher than what I paid, so I would only recommend buying it during a sale. The screen quality is fantastic and the built in speakers are actually good enough as well. I regularly host movie nights for friends with it and everyone enjoys it. My only complaint (and the reason this isn’t five stars) is the software is awful LOL. Once you click into whatever app you are watching with, it works smoothly and is great. But, when navigating the home screen, it is awfully laggy and glitches pretty frequently. I’m not sure what could be done to fix it (maybe a faster computer chip?) but it would be nice if it didn’t happen. This complaint isn’t super bad though, as the TV still works just fine. ... show more

  • Last Amazon branded tech product I will buy
Size: 50-inch Configuration: TV only
Like my title says this is the last branded Amazon tech product I will buy. When I first got it I actually really liked the tv to the point that I was like I will just keep buying these from here on out. What I like I like the size and I really like the picture. What I don't like It is incredibly laggy it is insane. I will click a button in any area from an app to the Home Screen to settings and I am waiting anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds almost every time to have it register. The apps I have a lot of issues with as well. Some are not Amazon ones but I know it's the tv and not the apps as the old smart tv I had I did not have some of these issues. Take the twitch app for example. I will move up to where it says back to exit a video and the whole app closes after just hitting the button once. I just turned on my tv and the tv has a memory thing when I opened the twitch app it was on a streamers profile. I moved over to the live section to watch them live and hit the enter button 30 plus times and it just sat there. The memory of the tv while some may like it I absolutely hate it. The reason being is take HBO Max for example (Hulu does it as well) will sometimes for some reason get rid of the continue watching line of shows so on my old tv I would exit the app and go back in and that would fix the issue. With the Fire tv and the memory it never gets fixed that way. I have to go into settings and restart the tv for it to forget. The resetting of the tv I have to do it on almost a daily basis. There have been a few days but not many where I don't need to reset it and others I have done it multiple times my old smart tv I would rarely do it monthly. The Home Screen almost half is filled with a giant banner of ads and sometimes that banner will expand to the whole screen and just start playing. My old tv had the same thing with the top part and I am okay with that. I don't like how it expands and is forcing me to watch ads until I close it. The other issue and I went into the settings and turned off all the notifications and I still am seeing the banner at the bottom telling me to try this with Alexa is the giant banners or huge rectangles that pop up telling me to try and say this to Alexa. Yesterday and it's not the first time but the upper right of the screen was filled with a giant black box telling me to try and say something to Alexa to try and search for it. Best part was I was in the Hulu app and I couldn't see a bunch of shows as this took up so much space I was unable to see behind it. I don't know who thinks something like this is a good idea but all it is going to accomplish is people not being able to watch shows and not spend money on your products. I can't really recommend this tv at all. If you were to maybe just use it as a tv and not a smart tv then I could see that but with all my issues it's just not a good choice. ... show more

  • Absolutely amazing and smart TV
Size: 75-inch Configuration: TV only
Received my 75inches Amazon fire omini TV today and my first impression is absolutely fantastic. Amazon has not shared much technical information like panel type is IPS or VA but since it supports enhanced dolby vision I assume hardware is high end and supports 12 bit depth at panel and graphics/processor level. I have watched so far SDR and HDR 4k contents and performance is absolutely amazing out of box settings. YouTube, Netflix, Amazon prime videos, Pluto tv, Peacock are my frequently used apps and all worked flawlessly. I will return to my updates after spending some more time with various types of contents, specially enhanced dolby vision. Update Oct 30th- watched squid games on Netflix in Dolby vision. When source contents are in DV mode this Tv senses the format automatically and DV logo appears on playback. I watched at night time keeping lights off in room and paid attention to all kinds of scenes that were being presented like day light, night times, indoor, outdoor etc. It scored absolutely 100% movie theater level presentation which I thought was never possible on LCD Tv. Color clarity to the extent no detail missed. Issues- yes I noticed 1 issue too in case Amazon technical team wants to know. 1. Video playback turned absolutely black occasionally with just audio sound going on. This happened while watching episodes of LOST season 2, episodes 16 to 20. It happened consistently when commercials that interrupt automatically in between and absolutely after last commercial is complete, episodes playback resumes with only audio and no video. Exiting episode and returning back to resume play manually always resolved this issue. I assume it to be a software glitch either of IMDB TV or Amazon prime. Dec 5th update: Installed Ring door bell, Amazon thermostat, Myq garage door opener and camera. All added as a device on Alexa application. Found that Tv gets integrated to Ring door bell and thermostat automatically. Nothing impressed my wife so far but the ease of announcing to Fire Tv straight from bed even when TV is powered off “Alexa set thermostat to xx temperature “ . Just this one smart feature turned out to be biggest winner. Tv continues to perform fantastic so far! Update Feb 16th,2022 - purchased Amazon studio to enhance dolby atmos sound experience and it made amazing difference. I placed it in center below my bed, found this to be best for room full of sound. Connecting to TV was a piece of cake through Alexa application. Tv continues to perform well till date and seems like Amazon is pushing automated software updates too. Happy customer! ... show more

  • Is it worth the $750 price tag? YES!
Size: 75-inch Configuration: TV only
2 year update: This TV is still killing it, it still looks amazing, it's easy to keep clean, & hasn't shown any wear or slow downs when navigating the UI. It's been left on for long periods when our youngest falls asleep in the living room at night and doesn't shut it off. If I had to take a guess, it has a minimum of 5,000 hours run time. I wanted to buy another one during prime day sales, however I couldn't afford it even at the great price of $699 for the 75". 1 year update: Still working like new and have had zero issues with it. We've had many great family movie nights. Kids have played their xbox's on it during sleepovers and the tv is just perfect. Original Review Below: So, my wife and I originally planned on saving money and buying the LG C1 model tv for the living room. We weren't even looking for a tv the day we bought this and just found it scrolling through amazon prime day deals. I think being able to finance the tv for only 30ish dollars per month (interest free) is mostly what made us decide on the 75" FireTV Omni. We read a lot of the reviews first and there are some terrible ones, however, I sure am happy that I didn't let it stop us from getting it. It is still our first day of owning it, & testing all of the features but so far, it is simply amazing for the low 750 dollar price. It feels very solid, no rattling or popping/cracking when unboxing and setting up. As you can see in the picture, we have no blinds/shades installed on our windows, with a 100+ degree day of Texas sunshine blasting through the windows ready to give you an indoor sunburn. Let me tell you, I was skeptical that the tv would have a good visible picture in such room conditions. Well, .......it absolutely did. I was even able to turn the backlight DOWN to 35 on the panel to get deeper blacks. Impressive. Turned on Netflix and a Dolby Vision nature show to test that out. By default it was set to the Dolby Vision Bright setting, so I changed it to the Dolby Vision Dark setting just to see, and that also made a huge difference and gave an even better image quality. Set color saturation to 65 also and it is such a good quality image. So if you are thinking about buying it, and worried about image quality, well if my two cents counts for anything to you......you will love it....go ahead and get it. We will try to update our review after the first year of owning. ... show more

  • (Still a) Great Smart TV
Size: 55-inch Configuration: TV only
***4/9/2026** Over a year, just wanted to punch up my review. No issues whatsoever. Love these TVs. Excellent experience with my firetvs. No slowdowns, no graphical issues, they have been on point. Big thumbs in my opinion. ***UPDATE - 6 Months - 5/19/25: - Original Review Underneath - I've come back around for an update for my Amazon fireTV experience to say it is still a wonderful TV. The two that I purchased (about a month apart) both are. I understand in other reviews that farther down the line it seems that they might just "stop working" but so far they have been working flawlessly. I am the type of person that upgrades my TV's every 3 years or so anyway, so if they stop working around then I will just take that at as a sign to get a new one. But that's just me. I take things in stride and for a smart TV that I got on sale for less than $400, I mean, come on. If you math that out that's less than most people pay monthly on ONE streaming service. Even if you paid full price, calm down. I still have no graphical errors, the colors are strong, there is no tearing or dead pixels in either unit. They both get daily use, hours of daily use. I have a soundbar on one unit which obviously increases the sound quality. The audio on the unit without the soundbar still produces decent sound, slightly above standard TV quality, unremarkable but nothing to complain about. They get plenty loud, so that's never been an issue. I have one unit named "Alexa" and one named "Echo". You can go into the menu and change the settings to rename the voice recognition options. So I can speak to the TV's independently. Speaking of, you still have to use the remote people. Voice control only goes so far, it goes very far actually, you can do most everything by voice, but selecting things with the remote is still required on occasion. (I like setting my sleep timer by voice at night, "Alexa, set sleep timer 20 minutes", when I'm laying in bed with my Pandora/Hulu app running.) You can google Alexa commands to see what your options are. ALSO, for everyone talking about slowdowns. Every time you open an app, it stays running in the background. It's like a phone or tablet. You open Disney+ then finish what you're watching, then go to the homescreen, Disney+ is still open in the background. Then you open Paramount+, then go to the homescreen, now Disney+ and Paramount+ are running in the background and so on and so forth, to infinity and beyond. Personally, I have never experienced slowdown's to that degree yet, but I would try doing a TV restart every night/morning (takes 90 seconds). I restart my TV's about once a week just as a preventative measure anyway. I will admit there are small irritations here and there. Alexa mishearing me. Hulu freezing once a week. Paramount+ logging me out once a month ( I honestly have a hard time even blaming the TV for that, I feel like it happens around my subscription renewal, so I think it is something that is server side with Paramount). But there are ALWAYS super quick fixes to these little bummers. Don't let these things ruin your day. Don't worry, be happy. [My TV's have never just turned off on their own either, so I'm not sure what issue that may be, I'm sorry to hear that some people suffer with that.] The only caveat I cannot speak to is the customer service problem, the frustration and pure exasperation I see is real. So I empathize with everyone who has had to deal with all of their issues. My TV's have worked flawlessly since purchase so I have never needed to contact any service reps. Edit: 6/30/25 As of today I have only had to replace the batteries once, on only ONE of my 2 sets (using Amazon brand batteries). *** -ORIGINAL REVIEW- So I've been waiting a while to write this review to get a decent feel. Honest opinion, AWESOME television. Amazing value, picture quality was great. Color/contrast didn't need adjusting right out of the box (personal opinion obviously) but you can tweak to your hearts desire. Alexa listened and responded promptly. I could just step through my front door and ask her to turn the TV on and within seconds I was at the main screen. Speaking of the interface, I found it quite intuitive. Not to disparage anyone but if you have a general understanding of how computers and/or other smart devices like smart phones work you shouldn't have a problem (QR codes might be the most difficult for those with less experience). Easy to setup and connect. Easy to connect to all your subscriptions and apps. To be honest, my TV came preinstalled with someone else's amazon account loaded, but luckily there are steps involved that make it impossible for someone to just log straight in. I just removed their account and had to take a few extra steps to add mine, again, fairly straight forward. The only issues I've run into are on a rare occasion there is a very slight lag when scrolling through apps. But if you just go into settings and do a TV restart it clears right up. All in all, at the price with the quality. A must buy. Addendum: I will concede I do not connect external hard drives or any other devices as of yet but my XBOX connects flawlessly. Great TV! Edit: For those worried about Alexa listening all the time, there is a hard flip switch directly underneath the "firetv" symbol under the center of the screen. Once you flip that the only way to control the TV is through the remote and Alexa no longer responds to voice commands and "allegedly" no longer receives any input. You can still speak to the remote as you would to Alexa while holding down the blue Alexa button as usual. In fact you don't even need to use the "Alexa" prompt, you can just say "Netflix" or "Bob's Burger's". P.S. A TV so nice I bought it twice. ... show more
