I boughtbthis dress on a whim. I thought thecut was something that could potentially be good for my body type (I'm an apple). I was pleasantly surprised at how flattering the dress is, and how comfortable it is. The fabric is lightweight, but now see through thin. It's been washed and came out fine, I liked it so much I just ordered 2 more colors and am coming back for what will be my 4th of these dresses. I'm going on a tropical vacation ithis winter and these dresses will pack well and give me a lot to wear taking up very little space in the process.

As other reviews have stated, this is a red-orange -- not a red -- dress. Which is why I bought it; I like the color. I have extremely pale, warm-neutral olive skin so wearing flash colors is always difficult for me and usually, I tend to stay away. As I've decided to embrace the Florida summer for once instead of cursing it, I decided to go for it with this red/orange and I am SO glad I did. It gives my skin WARMTH, which is a good thing when it has such a plunging neckline. Plunging, but not embarrassing. I did try to wear a slip with it once but the neckline was too low so if you're larger than DDs you may want to consider this. For me, even though it's down nearly to the empire waist, it stays exactly where it needs to stay. I bought a secretary desk off FBMP and wriggled it into the car in this dress without giving any freebies whatsoever. No danger of falling out or open. The color is not the only thing that turned out to be surprisingly flattering though. The dress itself is flattering as heck on my post-meno apple-shaped body. It gives me a waist and reminded me that I have some truly decent...grapefruits? Not melons. You get the drift. Anyway, the neckline provides a great distraction. As I like to hide my thighs I was a little nervous about the right-at-knee length (5'3) combined with the aerodynamically flared skirt, and a good stiff wind. Fortunately there's no such thing as a good breeze during Florida summers unless it's raining; even then, the skirt teased a little but managed to stay put. But that's not the best part. This dress is like wearing your favorite soft cotton tee shirt and nothing else, although it isn't cotton (we'll get to that). I don't really need a slip thanks to color/pattern and even though the temp has been stuck at heat index 101F, with humidity 85%+ I have never felt the urge to rip this off in a screaming heat-rage. I thought I'd be just wearing it as a house dress but it would be a great dress to go for coffee in, or even a casual date night. A great little run around dress. It's also incredibly sturdy despite its buttery softness. I almost didn't buy this dress because I HATE viscose (95% and something stretchy). But this fabric does not act like viscose -- machine washes and dries beautifully, and zero pilling. I think it may have slightly faded but nothing terrible. Probably shouldn't share this, but...I fell asleep on the couch once in this dress, woke up the next morning and had to literally run straight to the bank, do not pass go. There wasn't a single wrinkle. If I didn't look like a crazy person I would have looked fresh as a daisy. DO NOT order up. I ordered my regular standard size L (170lbs) and it fit perfectly. Even after spending 70 minutes in a hot dryer -- I mean I abuse this dress and she still looks great. Incredibly forgiving too: I recently gained 10 pounds (don't judge) and although my other dresses hate me, this one forgives. What I would change: 1) Pockets. It feels almost like an insult that an otherwise perfect, live-in dress doesn't have pockets. I'd pay the extra money for them. ADD POCKETS PLEASE. All women want them. 2) More patterns. I'm a pattern type of girl and honestly, I don't like dots or animal prints. Ya'll gotta quit it with those dots. Stripes, plaids, floral, whatever. But I've never wanted any one dress in more than one color until this one so I really hope the Big A adds more choices. Yeah, get it, whether you like dots or not. If this dress is flattering on me it'll be flattering on you, you gorgeous creature.

Im 5'6"/206/J-Cup size. I always size up. I like my clothes to fit loosely. I got the green in a 2X. It is too big. You definitely do not have to size up. If you like it loose, order in your size. More fitted, size down. Amazon said to order a 2X. I would not. BUT... the fabric is very soft and the design is flattering. Another oppsie, no pockets. I ordered a similar dress though a different manufacturer, thought they were the same. My mistake. I will be keeping it for bathing suit cover up or just a lounging dress. I could wear it, with a camisole under it. Prime Day Sale got me!

Love this dress! This is my 3rd one. I am 5'2 and 160 lbs. I ordered the size L and it fits perfectly. The material is comfortable and cool, stretchy. It comes slightly below the tops of my knees. Bodice covers nicely, the elastic under the bodice gives it shape. Works well for an apple shape or even a pregnant belly!

I bought this dress b/c surplice tops are often flattering on me, plus it looked nice on the plus-size models. I am 5’1 and 175 lbs currently (muscular AND fat), between a L and XL depending on the fit, with generally an hourglass shape. On me, the fit of this dress was unspeakably awful. The empire waist landed right under my bust and hung straight from there, giving a tent-like appearance that wasn’t proportional to the rest of my body. That alone would have been enough to return it, but the dolman sleeve was also a bad fit, giving a very sloppy appearance. I think a Large would have been a better fit, but I say that just to give insight into the sizing — I think this dress runs a bit large. This dress was just the wrong style for my body, and a smaller size would not have fixed that. While this was the wrong style for me, the dress itself is very nice and a great deal for the price (I paid $12.90 in June 2025). I got the navy animal print, which is lovely and looks more like a tiny floral print than it does animal print. The material is soft and feels great against your skin. A bit thin, yet it doesn’t seem clingy b/c there is a high elastic content (so also won’t wrinkle much or at all). The elastic seems appropriately tensioned for the size — not too loose, not too tight. If you have the right body shape for this dress, I think it’s 5 stars!

Super cute on! I had one in black that I wore before kids, while pregnant up to 9 months, then used for breastfeeding and it was such a cute yet stretchy dress. I ordered another one now 8 years later and still love what it looks like on. I am a true women’s size medium in all my clothing but with this dress I ordered a small because it is stretchy. Years ago I ordered the bright coral color but it was see through so I returned. I have only done the dark colors and they are not see through. Can be dressed up or just casual with flip flops and it still looks pretty and put together. Highly recommend!

Perfect for summer! Very comfortable, breathable fabric, not cheap looking at all. It washed and dried fine on cold water cycle, no shrinkage. Fit is fabulous! It can be dressed up with cute shoes and jewelry, or worn to the beach. I’m ordering another one!
