Note it has two little light-blue shiny textured papers that lock into the picture area, as well as two plastic covers for pictures. I unfortunately lost one of the plastic covers while putting in the pictures and so forth. It would be awesome if they came with an extra paper & plastic covering. In order to get locket-sized pictures, I went through about 5+ steps to save a few dollars. I measured the locket and made a 3" x 5" word document (customized size). I uploaded my pictures on the word document (about 10) and sized and rotated them to fit the locket (I also made the viewing size exactly 3" x 5" on my computer screen, so I could hold up the locket next to it to see if it looks like it would fit. This was about 110% for me). I then zoomed in as much as possible (with still seeing the whole 3x5 area) and took a screenshot, and uploaded the screenshot on paint. I cropped the screenshot to just the 3x5 word document (got rid of the toolbars & scrollbars and such) and then saved it as a jpeg. I then paid 21 cents to get a print of it at the Walgreens next to my house! Took about 20 minutes, plus the trip to Walgreens and cutting out the picture (that was tough!) I purchased this for Mothers day. The locket is a little difficult to open, but I think that is a good thing so the pictures inside remain secure. I resized some pictures of my kids and printed them out on photo paper. This comes with a template inside that you can use to trace over your picture and cut it out carefully.
