    • Great Sofa, but let's talk about "Leather"
Size: 89" Sofa Color: Cognac
So, I bought the 89" sofa in Cognac Leather. The sofa is huge. It's really, really comfortable! But, is it leather? It feels like leather. It has a very faint leather smell. I suspect it is a material called "PU Leather"... This is split-grain leather with a layer of polyurethane on the surface. That means it is highly stain resistant and easy to clean, but it won't be as tough over the long haul as real leather. UPDATE: The finish layer is breathable, and the leather WILL readily absorb water and solvents. I would recommend treating it regularly with Leather CPR, which will clean and preserve it, and tend to make it more resistant to water. Overall the couch appears to be very well made. The frame is strong and well constructed. A good deal for the price. UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS: 6 months of pitbull practically living on the couch and no scratches that were not rendered invisible with a little Leather CPR! The feathers in the back pillows have settled quite a bit, it would be nice to be able to add a couple pounds of feathers to each one. UPDATE AFTER 11 MONTHS: 11 months of pitbull using the couch as her bed and it doesn't show any damage - Amazing considering what her REAL BED looks like! I clean and treat it with Leather CPR every 3 months and it's looking really nice. The back cushions DO lose their shape easily, but a little punching them up restores the shape pretty well. Funny that Amazon stopped selling this sofa. It's available at other places and is normally called a "Lauren Sofa". ... show more

It’s a nice comfy large chair. The color is very nice. I ordered Slate. I’m shirt 5’1 and I can curl up nicely with a book. That’s what I wanted. Cushions are nice Amd full, form but not too much. Gives pretty good back support which is important. Love the wide flat arms. Cat approved as well. I may want another but not sure if they’ll be available again. ... show more

2023 Update : This chair is still perfect! Comfortable and my favorite chair. Still in great condition, easy to clean, love that the cushions are reversible! I rotate the cushions every few months just to fluff things up. Definitely my favorite purchase! READ FOR VERY DETAILED REVIEW : (Chocolate) Pros : • If you’re looking for deep seating.. this is has it. My son and I can easily snuggle up in the chair together, which we do often. I’m slightly overweight, and even with my kiddo sitting next to me, there’s plenty of room for me to fold my legs to the side and stretch out with extra space. • It is pretty firm, yet comfortable. My cousins have this chair and loveseat in a different color, so I was able to test them out beforehand. • Seems to be made of quality material. Easy to wipe clean and soft. The color is nice and the stitches seem good. No snags that I can find. • So far its a sturdy chair. My child likes to jump off furniture, and no creaks or other sounds have been made. • Arm rest is wide and can hold a bowl, my kids water bottle, or even my kid. • Cushions are removable, which will help the lifespan of the chair by flipping them. Cons : • Prices are inconsistent and keep going higher. My cousins spent only a little over 1k on their chair AND loveseat!! When I first looked at this chair, it was almost $600, then shot up to almost $800, and finally back down into the mid $500 range, so I jumped on it. Next day it went right back up to almost $800. It was only cheaper in chocolate, so that’s what I got. If I bought what I truly want (same combo as my cousins and in a different color), it would easily cost me almost 2K!! Which is a good amount more than what they paid only a few months ago. I’ll keep an eye out on price changes for the loveseat though.. Hoping it goes on sale for Prime Day or they go back to their lower prices! • Can be a little stiff after sitting in it for an entire movie, but it’s loosening up a bit with time and placing pillows against the armrest helps. • Bit of a strong off gassing smell for the first few days, but again, probably lasted longer because I kept it covered in plastic during the nights and some of the day. • It does sit pretty low, that’s not a con for me personally but thought it worth mentioning. • Possible inconsistent with manufacturing. My cousin sat in my chair the other day for the first time, and thinks her back is taller and said the chair even feels a little smaller? Nonetheless, we find both chairs to be mostly comparable and comfortable. I can’t speak for the long term quality of this chair, as I’ve only personally had it for a little over a week, and my cousins have only had theirs for a few months. But so far so good, and I’ll update my review if needed. I do keep plastic and a blanket over it when not in use, to protect from devil cats and dogs, so the quality will probably be preserved longer for me. ... show more

Pro: Seems like a great fabric that is tough on stains and dog fur seems to brush off much better than other sofas similar in nature and fabric (think Sunbrella fabric that sucks fur to it). The tan linen type color is great. The cushions and firm but not hard. The cushions all can be removed. The sofa is heavy with the cushions on it. This seems to indicate it’s well made. It is pricey but I think it’ll last a long time. It can fit two people for movie time both laying side by side. AUGUST 2023 UPDATE: This is the longest relationship I’ve been in. Looking back over the past five years, well, we’ve really had some great times. Sofa showed up on my doorstep and, honestly, it was love at first nap. I’m not going to get into the many compliments Sofa received, they made me jealous! Anyway, we really had some times. Sofa had fluffy cushions, still is the perfect size to stretch out on, but lately Sofa is getting a fat midline. Check out the photos, it makes me mad. Sofa has assured me this is a manufactured defect and it is simply not the fault of Sofa for being lazy and getting older. It is an assembly flaw and Sofa feels awful about it, as do I. I feel like our relationship is nearing its completion; I’m sleepless in savannah and don’t know what to do. If you don’t want to end up like me, and become too attached to your sofa, and then end up having it become broken and break your heart in the end, don’t buy one. ... show more
