I bought this $1000 tape dispenser to seal the packets for our new product. The Better 555eSa just stopped working one day. The machine has only had about 1 1/2 rolls go through it so far. I talked to Kieth at Better Packages (the manufacturer) who told me that it sounds like the motor seized up. F'n Great. He suggests I call Amazon because that is where I bought it...you know, Business PRIME. Now... there is no way to contact Amazon to let them know the product they sold me is defective and is still UNDER their WARRANTY. The motor is warranted for 2 years....Where is the SUPPORT for Prime Members? And do you stand behind your products? Better Packages does not because apparently labor is only covered for 6 months....sweet DONT BUY FROM AMAZON OR BETTR PACKAGES...they are cheats. After posting this review, the company contacted me to remedy the problem. They had me send back my machine and about a week later, I received it back repaired. Several of my friends that own e-commerce businesses told me I should be using gummed tape instead of sealing boxes with rolled plastic tape but I didn't know how much time and money a good gummed tape dispenser would actually save us until we installed it in our warehouse. There are so many benefits, I'll break them down into two categories: Cost savings and Time savings. Cost Savings - The BP555eSA dispenses exactly the amount of tape you need for a particular box, no more. Even though gummed tape may appear to be more expensive than cheap plastic tape at first, because you don't need to double-tape big boxes or use more tape than needed, it actually saves money on tape costs in the long term. - No busted open packages! The best thing about the BP555eSA is that with the fiberglass-reinforced tape you don't have to worry about packages coming open in transit. In the past, especially during winter, we'd have a really hard time getting boxes to stay closed even with double taping. The fiberglass-reinforced tape goes on easy and once the glue is dried those boxes are NOT coming open without force (or a blade) applied. This will save us considerably replacing damaged goods and just having to retape boxes to keep them from opening. Time Savings - This thing is FAST. Push a button, and the tape is waiting on you less than a second later. It dispenses faster than I can move. If you need the same size tape over and over again (like for taping out a lot of box bottoms at a time to get ready for shipping) you just hit the feed key and it will keep dispensing the last length chosen. - No more "where'd the tape gun go?" Our warehouse is neater than most, but we still sometimes misplace tape dispensers. The BP555eSA is always ready to dispense tape when we need it. At the end of the day, if you ship 50 or more packages a day out of your warehouse and want to streamline your shipping process, saving time and money in the process, check out the BP555eSA electronic gummed tape dispenser. I have had this machine for approximately 10 months now but it says I am past the warranty and support window but the machine stopped working. I need to get it repaired and they said I need to contact my purchaser. Which is Amazon but the window has closed. I would suggest purchasing direct to avoid running into this. ... show more

    • Perfect Tool for a Small Business that wants a Productivity Enhancing Tool
The most high-tech, fastest, tape dispenser I'll ever own. They say this is for 50 boxes per day or more, but don't let that dissuade you from buying it. We don't process nearly that many boxes daily but the convenience is what we got it for. If you've ever used a manual kraft tape dispenser you'd know the struggle is real (messy cuts, cold water, weak adhesion, glue all over your hands). This thing makes perfect cuts EVERY TIME. Perfect adhesion EVERY TIME (due to the internal water heater). No waste, perfect lengths based on your box, Extremely fast dispensing. Large water bottle that requires filling almost never. Those factors alone make boxing extremely efficient and less time consuming. Moreover, if you want to be super futuristic and make boxing a mindless task you can buy the AMD (Automatic measuring device) which automatically measures your box and dispenses the perfect length tape. IMO: this is the perfect tool for a small business that wants a productivity enhancing tool. Buy it, it's worth the price tag. ... show more

We do over 50 packages a day with this and got it to avoid any wrist injuries with tape guns. It's doing a good job but is a little overpriced to us for the value. If price isnt an option then it's a good choice.

This is my first use of the BP555eSA. I'm very pleased. The machine is very nice and printed tape adds to our brand. I should have pulled the trigger on this purchase several years ago. I now hate plastic tape.
