The first time my handyman assembled the ottoman, the footrest was lopsided, with one side higher than the other. I told him to disassemble it and I'd return it, but then he tried again rotating the footrest and reassembled it. Then it was perfect! It's supposed to be higher in the front and lower in the back (not side to side). So when you put the higher side towards your sofa, your feet slope down a little and are lower than your calves. Very comfortable. Good deal. Note this review is only for the ottoman (I did not buy the chair). UPDATE FEB 2023: Iโve used it for several months now. I love it! Great for my bad knee. And I love the contemporary design of it.

All seemed okay at unboxing - I mean, sure, there were a few minor scuffs / scrapes, but nothing to get worked up for at the price. Where I take exception is the fact that I can't actually fully assemble it. A few of the thread inserts (for the bolts that play the critical role of attaching the base to the actual ottoman) were either: (1) too deep for the hardware provided, or (2) obstructed by what look like metal shavings that don't allow the threading. I was able to force two bolts in, but now I guess I have to find a longer matching thread bolt and then figure out a way to fish out the metal shavings in the other insert. I've had IKEA furniture less burdensome to assemble, and this is literally supposed to be just four bolts to get two distinct pieces together. Woof - could have been four stars but here we are.

Ordered this chair because I thought it looked great and imagined it would be really comfortable. It arrived fine, but with an instruction sheet for a different chair. Initially I did not like it. It seemed to have a poorly designed headrest that made the chair quite uncomfortable. I was considering the logistics of having to return something of this size and weight. Then I accidently discovered that the head rest adjusts not just up and down, but fore and aft as well. Woo Hoo! All of a sudden it became really comfy besides looking like something out of the Jetsons. Advice to Amazon: it's not enough to design great products. Having the wrong instruction sheet could have been the difference between a one star and a five star review. So 5 stars for the chair, and 1 star for the instructions. I've had it less than a week so I really can't comment on its sturdiness... that's a weird question to ask unless you're writing a review months or years after buying it.

I wasnโt sure what to expect when I ordered this but it is quite a nice chair and very comfortable to recline in. It is very solid and surprisingly heavy for the price. I do wish it came with arc covers and another for the headrest as I worry those will need cleaning at sometime and not sure how that will work. The only negative is it is made in China where quality control is questionable. Ours came with an open pack of Chines cigarettes so someone was smoking as they package it. Not cool.

Overall I do like this chair and I want to keep liking it. The only complaints I really have is that a month into use the cylinder of the stand has begun to wobble a little bit and I wish the chair was a little taller. Iโm 6โ2โ and the lumbar and head rest arenโt a exact match for my comfort. One recommendation I have for the seller is a more affordable pairing of the chair with ottoman. Otherwise, this was a really good buy.

The ottoman was very attractive and looked great in our room with our chair but it arrived broken and scratched. The stem was broken off from the base and had multiple scratches. It appeared that the base was not actually attached with the bolts that were there. As another buyer stated, we think it must have just been glued. In fact, we feel certain that the one we received had been returned by someone else.

So this is tough for me as I absolutely love the chair and the ottoman looked quite nice as well. The chair perfectly matches my mid century decor and is very comfortable with many adjustable features that are nice. However within a few weeks of owning the ottoman it broke off from it's base. The ottoman was very lightly used, maybe 3-4 times total in the few weeks. I had sat down on it to tie my shoe and it snapped off the base. I'm not a very large man, only about 170lbs so this was pretty ridiculous for the cost of the furniture. Looking at the break it looks as if the base and the stem are simply glued together despite the illusion of bolts going through the bottom. I was lucky this occured in the 30 prime window so I could easily get a replacement but I'm now really worried the same will happen with the chair at some point. The product feels very sturdy but this incident has me concerned. We'll see if the replacement ottoman lasts any longer :/
