Style: Chain Saw Kit
As the product name states - this Denali chainsaw is a re-branded Skil product. Now this in itself does provide some measure of quality assurance, from Skil and of course the availability of parts in the future - should the need arise. Having said that, the saw is very well packaged, contains a number of product manuals, and seems very well built. The weight and balance allows this saw to be used one-handed for cleaning up and limbing downed trees. I compared it to a 12 inch gas-powered saw, and this item does weigh less. Of course add in the facts that it does not need pre-mixed oil/gas, does not make a noise, and does not emit exhaust fumes makes for a great product. I do have one concern, and that is that battery removal is a two-handed activity. The battery shape has no "ridge" to assist in gripping, which makes it very difficult to remove with one hand. Time will tell how much work can be done with one battery. Now since the motor does not idle when not in use, I anticipate that a fair bit of work could be done in a few hours . . . . ... show more

Style: Chain Saw Kit
Charged up, added oil, fit chain and guide, and away we go. Hawthorne bushes died in freeze 2 years ago. It's tough. Real tough wood. The bigger chainsaw is hard to use in the brick planters at this close angles... here comes the light, maneuverable 12" Denali. Solid performer. The chain loosened a couple times, unscrew the lock, manipulate the tensioner adjustment, and re-lock. No more idling motor, smell, and don't *need* hearing protection although I still will in the future. Didn't think it would be this good. Did 5 stumps down to the ground, and still has battery.
