Not sure why the label says it can't be washed. I actually never saw that label, only saw in some reviews here that the label states it's unwashable. I've washed this bed countless times in my stackable machine with no issues. My dog passed one week ago today. She loved this bed and used it daily for almost four years. I can't say if it is actually self-warming, though she seemed to stay comfy. She was a small dog, a Yorkie poodle, so got cold easily, but always seemed warm enough in her bed. Even after 3.75 years and many washings, the bed is in good condition. I will probably donate it to my local Humane Society. Though, the thought of getting rid of it makes me feel sad. But I like the idea of another dog benefiting from a nice, warm bed. ... show more

Thick & comfy. The community cat I feed loves it! I took it out of his little house for a couple of days (to let it dry after it got damp due to rain). When I brought it back , he couldn't wait for me to put it back in his house--he jumped right in it! The sides are nice because they help protect him from drafts, and also are flexible enough to conform to the inside of his little house. The cat is about 13-15 pounds & the bed has plenty of room for him. The self-healing feature seems to work well. While the cat really likes the self-heating pad I put in his house while the bed dried, he seemed ecstatic to get his bed back! ... show more

Ordered same day delivery, wasn’t sure if my cat would use it at all but I caught her sleeping in it and she’s perfectly content. Wanted to get a bed to keep her warm in case the power went out in the winter. Overall, it seems great for picky cat.
