    • Seems to work just fine
Size: 15 Feet
I looked at all the negative reviews, and was a bit leery of this one, especially whether or not it would click into place in the socket. I need not have worried. On both ends, there was a satisfying click when I inserted the cable, and it required sufficient effort to remove the plug that it is very unlikely to fall out, as some people complained about. ... show more

    • Remove the tiny protective cap.
Size: 15 Feet
I was skeptical about some of the reviews regarding the plug not staying in place. When I first plugged it in, (temporarily) it didn't seem to fit right but worked ok after pushing it in rather hard. When chasing the cable down inside the wall for the permanent installation. I accidentally discovered a very small (hard to notice) protective cap on each end just covering the metal tip. After removing the cap the plug snapped into place just as I would have expected. Also found that the quality of sound was improved. My hunch regarding the poor reviews of the plug not remaining in place may be because the cap was not removed. ... show more

    • Very impressive stuff
These cables are excellent. The connectors are well build and stay in place. The cable is a soft rubber that doesn't crimp. And obviously they work. With most digital cables, particularly digital audio cables, they either work or they don't. There isn't any in between. Quality is only really a concern with analog audio cables, such as RCA. But still, with optical cables you want something that will last and, most importantly, with connectors that will STAY IN PLACE. These meet those requirements. I have to say I am very impressed by Amazon's stuff overall and in particular all of the cables/wire I have purchased from them. I am kind the kind of guy who has an entire large bin full of cables and wire in my closet. Literally dozens and dozens of cables ranging from old school analog audio and video to modern day display port and HDMIs. They also range from one end of the spectrum to the other in terms of quality, some I have are total junk and have never been used, others are very high end and were very expensive. Amazon Basics cables are really very excellent for the money. I wouldn't put them in the highest tier of build quality but for digital cables they are more than good enough. ... show more

    • Works Great for Media Conduit!
My new house has media conduit inside the walls where TV’s can be mounted so that cords can easily be concealed. Trouble is that many of my cords are not long enough. I bought this for my sound bar, and it was plenty long to snake through the media conduit while connecting it to my TV and my sound bar. ... show more

    • chunky and better than expected!
Size: 15 Feet
Review Image by Robin M
Very impressed. This items was better made than I thought it would be for the price. Quality product. I needed 15ft run from the TV to an older THX processor/amps for surround. This was installed in conduit and was easy to run from the TV to where the amps are located. I definitely will say this cable was better than I thought from the photo, very chunky but still flexible, nice grips at the terminations. Seems to be transmitting signal fine. Will update if problems. ... show more

    • Works Great: There’s a Rubber Cap That Protects the Contacts. Remove Before Installing. Duh!

There seems to be some confusion about how these AmazonBasics Optical audio cables fit or don’t fit into your devices. They fit fine. You simply need to remove the rubber cap that protects the metal contact on the end of the cable. See photos. Remove the rubber protective cap! Voila. Fits fine, clicks in, great. It seems that all of the one star reviews of these cables complaining about the lack of fit of the cables are because of user error. I almost bought a more expensive cable because I read a bunch of one-star reviews where folks apparently did not recognize that this rubber cap is removable. I gave 5 stars because having a rubber cap to protect the contact is a fantastic idea. Maybe Amazon need to include a note about removing the rubber caps in / on the packaging so users don’t make this silly error. So far works great. Sound quality? Don’t know yet. ... show more

Size: 15 Feet
Price and quantity are excellent. The only ones I could find locally were much more expensive.
