It's a great umbrella. Small but a little heavy. It takes a good push to fully close it too. The most annoying part for me is that there is a small rubber Amazon logo on the umbrella and when fumbling around in the rain to open/close the velcro strap, I grabbed the rubber logo and ripped it halfway off. Really, like why put a rubber logo on an umbrella, Amazon? Otherwise, there is no UV protection either, but I also only noticed that when using this overseas in Asia for vacation.

I bought this umbrella as an Amazon return at a great price. Looks well made. But at first I couldn't get it to open. Fortunately I found the answer in the reviews here (thanks Brandon). Push the umbrella against the wall while holding the button. I also gave it a little WD40. Update: Was indispensable on my tour of several rainy Baltic countries. (Along with two raincoats, one serious and one lightweight). In Stockholm, the rain would come and go suddenly, so a quick opener for a short squall. For longer downpours was essential with the big raincoat. A couple of times when the wind gusted, it turned inside out, but was easy to restore. If I lived in Stockholm, I'd buy a pricier and more windproof umbrella. But this one was great, and not too heavy, about 10 or 12 ounces I think.

I have several umbrellas, but I wanted something to take on a 3-week trip to the U.K. this spring. My other umbrellas are either too large, or too decorative (i.e. I wouldn't want to lose or break them). So, I bought this Amazon Basics bumbershoot because the price was right, the reviews were good, & it was nicely plain but sturdy. It was small enough to carry in my small-to-average backpack, yet opened large enough to keep me dry during all the rain we encountered in Scotland & England. It never blew inside out, & always worked fine.

Simple: purchase Many umbrellas are way overpriced. This one is fairly priced and has already surpassed being treated poorly with flying colors. This thing is durable and capable. Bought one for each car to have just in case. At this price you can’t go wrong. This is a PURCHASE

I used this umbrella for the first time this weekend. The opening and closing mechanism broke as I attempted to open it. Something (the elastic cord inside?) snapped. It was very disappointing since it is a great size and I liked the color.
