These work well but both sides seems to be close to the same grit so it would be nice if one side was a little less abrasive to help smooth the edges a little better

Works just like any other nail file. No need to buy expensive ones when these are much better.

I am not an expert on nail care. I am not an expert on nails tools and care. I am just a person who uses a simple drug store nail file or a very typical emery board to trim and shape my nails. I trim my fingernails and I trim my toenails using just these simple drug store tools. These salon boards are wonderful! I love the grit, so much more gritty than what I have ever used before. I love the firm board that does not bend. I love the durability of these medium grit salon boards. I get the job done so much faster with these boards. The boards work well for several uses. I keep one with my home nail care and skin care products. I keep one in my purse. I wouldn't go back to using the drug store quality nail files and emery boards.
