I love this. I ordered the Portable Travel Playpen by AmazonBasics for multiple litters of kittens, that my girls had, last year. The primary litter was approaching one month old, and the secondary litter was about a week old. Kittens don't do much within the first month after birth. Their eyes open in 7-10 days after birth. They crawl on their bellies for about the first two to two and a half weeks. From three to four weeks of age, their mobility improves but generally they have basic and limited motor skills. It is in the second month of age that they become more agile, and can run, jump, climb, and pounce. (Although if there are older cats in the house, the litter can be more developmentally advanced. I had one litter of kittens that were jumping, climbing, running, and pouncing, at one month of age.) The kittens in the primary litter were fast-approaching that rambunctious stage that cute baby cats are famous for. My cats are indoor-outdoor, and they love being outside. I believe in letting cats explore and enjoy nature, since it is instinct for them to want to be outdoors. I wanted my girls, and their litters, to be able to enjoy the warm weather, and sounds of the season, but I also didn't want to expose them to any danger. Even though the yard is fenced in, kittens can still get very hurt, because they tend to wander. Much like human babies, they want to taste everything, even if it is potentially poisonous. I wanted for the kittens to be able to explore safely, under supervision of course, and not worry about them falling down a drain, or eating out of garbage cans, or crawling under a fence, never to be seen again. A travel playpen is the perfect solution. The AmazonBasics portable playpen is great. Although it is made for small dogs, it works great for kittens. It opens (and closes) very easily. It comes with a nice travel bag. It is very easy to clean. Just wipe with a damp rag, or hose off and let dry. Both the bottom and top flaps unzip. It is made of quality material and isn't flimsy. It is a very good size; and, is a great size for kittens, and small cats. I had as many as nine kittens (between one and two months of age) in the playpen at once. I even let mama cat stay with her litter to nurse periodically. Both of my girls are petite, and at that time weighing about five to six pounds. So, one six pound cat and four or five babies, can fit into it comfortably. The older, much bigger boys, even liked it. I had a kitten sized litter box (XS) in it at times because the kittens were learning to use it. I also had a few toys in it for them. So as not to make it crowded, I would rotate the litters of kittens inside of the playpen. I would put them all in it, and then take one or a few out at a time, and let them explore, while the others stayed inside of the playpen. I covered the bottom with an old towel, but as mentioned, it wipes clean very easily. It is very durable. It is very sturdy. It was able to support the weight of kittens climbing, and jumping, on top of it (see photos) while the others were inside playing. It held up well against kittens biting, scratching, climbing, pouncing, and jumping on it. I have added in a few photos of it in which the older cats are close-by, to provide a better visual of the playpen's overall size. This is an awesome playpen, and I highly recommend it. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would definitely purchase this again.

I don’t normally write scathing, flaming reviews, but I do want to let other pet owners know what happened with this enclosure. I’m a new and fairly clueless kitten rescuer. Doing it on my own, and there was about a week before I could get the little fella to the vet. I didn’t want to put a 4 lb active kitten in a tiny crate, so I thought this pen would do for a week. It worked great for a day. The mesh held up well to tiny claws (and is still holding) and it’s nice and roomy. That’s where the positive ends. The zippers that the manufacturer used are beyond cheap. They are not suitable for heavy duty use, nor should they have been used for zipping around corners/curves like the top roof and door openings. They stick, they come pulled open spontaneously (in the middle), and they after two days, the top zipper straight up broke. This pen is for pets. They are unpredictable by nature and tend to dart and run. You need to be able to rely on a zipper to close quickly when a wiggly kitty is trying his best to make his Great Escape. I’ve ordered a nice big metal cage and as soon as that arrives (fingers crossed!) this piece of crap is getting sent back for a refund. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I bought this for my cat who just had surgery 2 weeks ago and needs to have movement restricted while healing. This is the perfect size to fit everything she needs inside- small litter box, large bed, food and water. 2 days ago, one zipper broke on one of the door openings. I wasnt really concerned because each door has 2 zippers. Today, the second zipper on the same door broke- resulting in a situation where my cat can now escape the enclosure making it useless without pinning or sewing it shut. Returning it isn't really an option because I still need to keep my cat in it. I want to give this 5 stars- but yall need better quality zippers on this product!

Bought this to put my three cats in while our house was being sold for showings. Just 30 minutes or so here and there. Well, 1 cat went into a straight panic the minute we closed him and the other two in it. Which caused the other one to go ballistic while the third just tried to get out of their way. Now when its open and just sitting there they will all 3 loung in it. 100% determined my cats are defective. The product however is pretty awesome. Though cat #1 (the psyco) likes to jump right ontop in the middle, which because he's fat and as mentioned defective, causes the while thing to collapse in on itself. Pops right back into shape with no issues.

I bought this product for my small foster dog to hang out in while I was in the kitchen. Well come to find out, my small foster dog ( now a my new pack member) would rather go lay on a bed that is out of kitchen than hang out in this pet pack and play. This pet pack an play is huge!My cats absolutly love this thing. They think it is their new jungle gym. They move it all over the floor, turn upside down and just have a grand time playing in it. Easy to assemble, but pay attention to how it unfolds so you known how to fold it back up. Super easy to clean and storing it is amazing-it literally takes no space to store when folded.

Have just received and easily set up for my precious two kittens from a rescue due here Sunday. Nice case to carry it in and no odor, b I g!!! UPDATE: As you can see, it is perfect and easy to clean. I use it for nap time and night time or any time I need to leave the house. They will actually climb back in when exhausted from chasing and playing. I was leary of zippers after reading reviews. . I only use top one. I am gentle with it and works well! Do not know how anyone could get a new kitten and introduce it to other pets without it. Thank you amazon, for selling this in your site!!!!
