Until very recently (June 15th), I had never had a cat that wanted to go literally everywhere with me. But after I had found Nunu, my new cat, in a box with her two siblings, I couldn't just leave her, and she turned out to be that kind of cat , following me around the house, trying to follow me outside, extremely unhappy if left behind, but totally unwilling to wear a harness or collar. When I saw that this was available, I jumped at the opportunity, because I had seen a few people using things like this whenever I had gone to the vet. And she loves it! She loves it, she's kept safe and secure, and I don't have to worry about her spazzing out and choking herself half to death with a harness or leash. Which she is very dramatic about, but we're still going to work on it. This, however, lets me take her literally everywhere with me. It can hang on my wheelchair if needed or I can have it on my front. Just turn around, and she loves to watch the world and see what people are doing from it, so it has been great for both of us. Aside from the good that it's done for my mental health and Nyx's general happiness, it's very sturdy, the bottom is nice and solid, and doesn't bend like so many with a slide in bottom of some variety, where the bottom is just too flimsy and doesn't take long to warp, bend or even fold. Not this, however, still the same as when I received it. Also, she can't easily chew through the mesh, but can see our surroundings very well, nor has she been able to unzip it easily herself because I can lock the zippers together if I need to. I usually just use a twist tie that way I can remove it quickly if I need to. All in all, I cannot recommend this enough if your cat really loves to go places with you and just does not want to cooperate with harnesses or a leash. I will also be adding photographs later, so that I can show how little wear and tear it's taken despite being used nearly every single day since its arrival at our house. I hope this review helps someone, because I wish I had seen something like this months or even years ago. I can only imagine how useful it could have been for other cats, even though no other cat I've had has been nearly as clingy and protective as Nyx, who is the first black cat I have ever had. And their personality is just something else. Absolutely amazing backpack (Sort of) for an amazing cat.

I ordered this Amazon Basics Black Bubble Backpack Pet Carrier for my Mom’s 9-lb Norwich Terrier, Bernie. After several days of car rides, a vet run, a grooming appointment and 2-mile walks, the backpack has performed wonderfully! The backpack folds to 3” thick, unfolds in 15 sec., side pockets hold leash, treats, phone, keys. Collapses flat under sofa for easy storage. The mesh and tether provided a calm 40-min ride for Bernie, who usually is not a great car rider. Dimensions & Fit: • Interior: 12.6”L × 11”W × 17.3”H • Bernie stands upright with 2” headroom. • Straps + sternum clip sit high on my long torso; 2-mile walks remain balanced and sweat-free. Safety Features: 1. Interior tether: 6” nylon leash with brass snap - held firm when Bernie lunged at another dog. 2. Locking zippers: dual pulls accept a cable tie - prevents paw escapes. 3. Four mesh panels: 8 °F cooler than hard crate; no claw snags. 4. Rigid floor insert: 3 mm plastic - pack stands upright on café chairs. 5. Rubberized base: stays put on wet tile and car seats. 6. After testing it for several short trips with my 12-pound cat, here’s what I found: This carrier offers a comfortable, well-ventilated, and secure way to bring a pet along on walks, public transport, or short trips. I got it to replace a rigid hard-sided carrier, and it’s been a practical upgrade—especially for quick outings where a full crate would be overkill. The bubble window is a highlight—easy to zip in place and surprisingly sturdy, though the flexible plastic will likely scuff with use. Ventilation is excellent, with breathable mesh panels and air holes throughout. The oxford-style fabric wipes down easily, and the padded interior bottom can be removed for separate washing, keeping things fresh after travel. My cat fit comfortably and had enough space to move, sit, and look around.
