This is a great tent we fit 2 twin size beds inside. The tent held up in desert weather for 5 months before it started to tear apart. It was water proof light weighted the zipper was easy to use as well. My 10 year old set it up with easy instructions

I must have grown over night, because I was 5’3” and now when I stand up in the center of the tent my head is touching the ceiling! Definitely no 70” !! Setup was very easy. Wish instruction were a little better than just pictures. It is very light and packs into a small bag. So this is the positive. For the negative, when they say sleeps 8, I think they must talk about 8 people sleeping in the floor in sleeping bags. No way you can fit air mattress for 8, not even talking about cots. For two people going camping with all of the luggage and cooking utensils plus porta potty I worked out okay. My husband 5’11” was complaining about the height and being unable to stand up. Thankfully it hasn’t rained yet, so don’t know how waterproof it is. In Texas we go camping with portable AC units, so the mesh roof was not very perfect. We also had to put the queen air mattress sideways. If you place it the way they tell you, your head would be under the side wall. Yes, it is that low. My bags barely fit there. Like I said for 2 short people it is okay. Hope the weather is fine, so you can do all of the cooking etc outside and just use it for sleeping. See picks for inside. ... show more

We've had the four-person version of this tent for three years. I have two other tents and I bought this one for my young daughter so she could have her own. Last summer she and I slept in it 27 nights in a row; it was fun and with the right sleeping pad it was not too uncomfortable for me. Quite recently we were in the Northern AZ mountains during monsoon season and arrived at our camp spot with big dark clouds gathering. We laid out a tarp and quickly put up the tent (it's super easy) including the rain fly. Within minutes of setting up the tent and getting our bagts inside the tent, it began pouring rain, and before the storm passed somewhere between 1.5 to 2 inches fell (according to NWS) in a 3 hour period. The inside of the tent was absolutely dry and we slept the night comfortably. I was very pleasantly surprised and quite pleased. Usually just my daughter and I sleep in the tent, but occasionally, including the night of the torrential downpour, my wife joins us. With three in the tent it is still comfortable; with two it is downright roomy. Netted pockets provide a place for phone, wallet, etc. With no rainfly the mosquito netting along the top allows a breeze and star gazing. In summary, unbelievably good tent from Amazon Basics, and at a price point much better than the big-name tent makers out there. ... show more
