I am super happy with this dog bed for the price paid!! Pros: super simple to assemble, gel memory foam, sufficient size & thickness, high quality waterproof and top covers that are machine washable, dog seems to love it, and not so big that it takes up my entire living room (but still plenty of room for my fur baby to be comfortable!) Cons: no bolster for head support on “couch style” I was looking specifically for a gel memory foam mattress type rather than the egg crate type- which is the composition of the foam in most of the dog beds around the $50 price range and below (as in egg crate foam). I have a big dog (64 lb pitbull) and feel better giving her more support than the egg crate foam offers. Therefore, I was happy to find this Amazon basics bed at an affordable price in the bigger size I needed. I bought the gel memory foam “couch style” type at 42” x 29”. Great size for not taking up my entire living while still keeping her comfortable. My dog’s dimensions are: 28.3” chest, 18.9” neck, & 21.9” body length. With that - she is very top heavy - but short in length and has pretty short legs. This size fits her perfectly, with a little room to spare, for her to move around and get comfortable. I think it could comfortably fit a little bit more length body wise and leg wise too if your dog is a little longer. The 4” thickness of gel memory foam seems sufficient as well - ie when she’s lying down she is not sinking down to the ground. It comes with two separate layers of covers. There is a waterproof layer underneath a top cover made of a fleece material. They seem to be better quality than other beds we’ve had over the years. I honestly cover the bed with crib sheets for the ease of changing them out daily to keep her bed and my home clean. . And therefore am not having to take the cover off as often to wash it. I have washed it multiple times still though and if launders just fine. I do wish that they offered the gel memory foam with a head bolster. That’s the one downside to this bed. I purchased a separate dog pillow in hopes I could get her to lay on it, but she doesn’t quite understand the concept of it. With it being removable- it’s become a toy. I think the bolster would offer additional support for her neck that I wish it had. Her last bed had raised sides and she did lay her head on them. Overall great dog bed- excellent value for the money spent!! Other gel memory foam dog beds are quite a bit more expensive. I don’t regret this purchase at all!!! ... show more

The quality of the bed is good. The zipper moves easy and the fabric is durable. It was easy to set up and true to size. It comes compressed and expands immediately. I didn’t wash yet but I’m not worried due to the quality of the fabric. My 85lb dog fits with extra room and she is comfortable. The pad itself is not as thick as I’d like but the cost is considered which is why I give it five stars. ... show more

Comes in well packed individual packages in the larger box. Foam and pillow topper filled out nicely. The topper if thick. The large bed is really a great size and its cover is soft to the touch. My dog is only 12 lbs however, comfort was my objective because we do not allow him on the furniture. He loves his bed. Machine washable. Once you get it put together, it feels heavy and durable. I ordered an XL and it took two of us to squeeze the bed and back foam together enough to get it zipped. The foam bed comes with a cheaply made polyester zipper cover. I wish that cover was thicker but for 26$ you can't beat this!! Similar beds at Costco or Sam's are 50$ plus. ... show more

XL Bed ... This dog bed is absolutely HUGE, honestly big enough for my five-year-old to stretch out on, but it’s the perfect size for our Australian Shepherd. The padding is thick, about 3–3.5 inches, which gives great support and comfort. Assembly was super easy, and I really like the design of the cover system. The zip-up liner that goes over the padding before you insert it into the outer bed cover is a great feature, it helps protect the foam from smells and dirt, making it easier to keep clean.     • Disappointed - not all memory foam.

I am disappointed in this bed. I went down a rabbit hole looking at dog beds trying to find the right one. I was trying to find one for a little nook where my dog likes to lay, so it needed to be a certain size, but, she is getting older and needs extra support under her for comfort on her aging joints. For that reason I specifically wanted memory foam to give her the added comfort. I chose this bed specifically because it said it was memory foam. Well, there is memory foam on there, but there is more regular foam than memory foam. It's like 2/3 regular foam, and 1/3 memory foam. I wish they were more specific in the descriptions. It seems like anywhere you go they are trying to be sneaky and deceptive in the descriptions to draw you in and get you to buy something. I understand that they are trying to sell products, but now that it's hard to find much locally it seems even worse than it used to be because you could see things in person and it was easier to see the quality of an item before purchasing it. Other then that, it seems like the rest of it is decent quality. It has two covers that you zip on, a liner and the outside cover that is soft on top and a non-slip bottom. I just wish it was all memory foam and that I didn't feel misled by the brief description. ... show more
