  • TRRS connector. Not TRS standard. Watch out, it might not work
Color: Black Weight: 1 Pounds
Microphone worked well on and iPhone 6 for instance. But, when I went to use it with a DELL laptop (windows 10) to make a screen-cast video for school, it was not recognized by the machine. This was the exclusive reason why I bought the mic in the first place. After hours of struggling. I found the problem on the web..as mentioned by a previous reviewer above. “Thanks by the way” This is a TRRS connector. And not all devices/electronics are equip to accept and receive this type of connection. 3 stars because Amazon does not include this information when you are 1st buying the item. The specs aren’t very clear at first sight. Only to leave customers frustrated when the product is not working properly due to miss information in the 1st place. Inaccurate information on products is always bad for Bussines. ... show more

  • An excellent microphone, but you might need a TRRS adapter
Color: Black Weight: 1 Pounds
I needed a lapel mike fast for my MacBook Pro computer, and I was grateful to get this one, shipped in just a day or two. The sound quality is great, and it worked plugged into my earphone/mike jack on the computer (TRRS jack), but it meant I had to do something else about the sound. Fortunately, you can use a bluetooth speaker or headphones with it. After getting a USB mike, I used the TRRS mike with an adapter on a desktop (Dell) computer with a TRRS/USB adapter, and it works beautifully. The only reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars is the need for an adapter. Otherwise it's great. It draws power through the plug, so there are no batteries to worry about, and the volume, sensitivity and sound quality are excellent. It was a lifesaver when I needed it, and it continues to work well. ... show more

  • Surprisingly nice sound for the price
Color: Black Weight: 2 Pounds
I needed a lapel mic for my DayJob and didn't want to spend a huge amount of cash. I've had good luck with AmazonBasics mica in the past so spring for the 2 pack of lapel mics. The sound is clear and even, free of background clicks and static that I associate with my other lapel mic. These work well with my cellphone, an old cell I use to record audio, Zoom H1 and my laptop. I used the pair with a jack splitter and still got clear audio. These are a great piece of equipment that can improve your audio quality for those pesky video meetings we ate all forced into. I use mine for a off the cuff podcast and to engage in teletherapy with clients. Great value ... show more

  • A good basic mic for limited applications.
Color: Black Weight: 2 Pounds
I used this mic in a couple different ways so far. If you’re just using it for recording to a smartphone, it works just fine. Omnidirectional pickup but really does focus on the person wearing it. So some room noise will be present but nowhere near as much as with a shotgun mic. If you’re using it with a DSLR, you’re going to be disappointed. Depending on your gear, you may need a TRRS to TRS adapter. And you’ll definitely need an extension cable. More connections means more signal loss. The audio is just as clean, but the volume leaves much to be desired. If you are looking for smartphone recording only, this is a great value. ... show more

  • Read the FINE PRINT! This is a TRRS plug!
Color: Black Weight: 1 Pounds
This is a very fine lapel mic and works as it should, provided you have the appropriate connection for it. This is NOT a standard stereo TRS headphone jack plug (as in, the kind that standard headphones use for Left + Right + Ground). Rather, this is a TRRS, which is the kind of plug that adds an extra ring for a dedicated mic channel in addition to the stereo + ground connections. This is often found on smartphones and more modern laptops which combine the headphone and mic jacks into one plug. If you have a laptop like that or an older phone with a headphone jack (which is sadly starting to phase out!), this will work as a mic. Most camcorders, DSLRs and dedicated audio recorders will be looking for a more standard TRS (or even TS, if it is a monaural input) and will have problems with this connector. You'll need a PC breakout cable or something similar to get the pins to line up correctly to use in those situations. The mic works fine if used correctly, but I'm removing a star from my review because it was not immediately obvious that this was for a phone/laptop mic only. There is some fine print in the item description that mentions not using it with a camera/DSLR, but it is very easily missed. Considering that phones with headphone jacks are on the way out, Amazon really should update the description to make it clear what the intended use of this mic is. I see one other reviewer already didn't realize and gave it a bad review as a product that didn't work. Hopefully people will read this first and understand the difference so they can make an appropriate buyer's decision! ... show more

  • Surprisingly great quality sound for the price. The metal clip is better than others' plastic.
Color: Black Weight: 2 Pounds
I was a bit skeptical that a mic at this price would sound good, but after making this first recording on my Samsung S9, I was amazed. Seriously. I am not an audiophile but the difference between using this mic and the built-in one (which is still very good) is profound. I look forward to using this when making videos on my laptop. Great job, Amazon. Remember that if you want to use this for live calls, you will need the splitter cable, and connect ear buds/headphones. ... show more

  • Good inexpensive external microphone for mobile devices.
Color: Black Weight: 2 Pounds
I've used these microphones in a couple of different ways. I plugged it into the mic. port of a TRRS headset adaptor and plugged headphones into the headphone jack of the adaptor and used it with my laptop for video conferences. It works well and sounds good as long as your surroundings are quiet. This microphone is omnidirectional and picks up well. I tried this same setup but plugged into my Xbox One controller for gaming, but the microphone was sensitive enough to pick up the game and chat audio coming out of the open back headphones and cause terrible echo for my game party members. I also used the microphone to record some videos with my Samsung Galaxy S9 and the sound was great. ... show more

  • Good product.
Color: Black Weight: 2 Pounds
Good product so far. I haven’t had any issues with the audio for me. The audio is better than the H one zoom that I own. The only issue with that is I have to use an adapter to convert it to TRS. This also includes the iPhone sound quality, in case you were wondering. If I hear drastic change and sound quality I’ll post an update. ... show more
