Tried to jump my car with these cables, and the cords caught on fire and burnt the other car. Now there’s a big hole melted in their headlights. Terrible quality cords.

Would not start my wife's car. Her battery was just low enough to cause the starter to click. I had to use the old junky pair to actually get the car to start. Very disappointed with this amazon basics item!

Thought these would be a great product since they had great reviews. Bought them last year, so couldn't return them now. This last week we left the headlights on overnight while camping and needed to use these (getting a jump from a fellow-camper's big dually truck). At one point, a trickle of electricity came through, but not enough to ever start the ignition. Finally had to call roadside service who jumped my car in seconds, once they attached their cables. It wouldn't have been so bad had I known these were faulty ahead of time, but considering the hours spent delayed on our trip, plus the inconvenience of dealing with the roadside service company, were a disappointment. Now I'm throwing them out and buying some high-quality cables. I won't ever buy anything from amazon brand again that I need to absolutely rely on.

Super cheap cables for a reason. Not only did they not work properly but they also melted and burned through my brand new headlight. Went and bought one at auto zone and they work 10x better.

Seriously, you can't expect any better cabling for ten a mere bucks. Critics complain that it is made with copper-coated aluminum wire. Big deal. There's a lot othick conductor cabling and most sources agree that copper is only slightly better as a conductor than aluminum. Aluminum is also cheaper, lighter and more malleable...in other words the cable is light and flexible with a thick coating. The clamps are the most solid I've used and also have reinforcements to hold the wire tight and prevent fraying or loosening. I find these much cheaper and heavier duty than stock extension wires for trolling motors (ie: almost $10 for 2ft versus 12 ft...I returned the short ones).

My wife's jumper cables disappeared from her van, they had been a $20 set from a big box store that were poorly made, terribly corroded, and needed replacement anyway. We discussed the different cables that I could buy her, and how they would fit in the car, she totally dismissed the idea of the large 0 gauge cables I use on diesel trucks and tractors and insisted they don't take up too much space. Looking things over on Amazon on the cost/length/gauge set, these were the best value for the dollar. In the end, I am extremely happy with these, they are much better than the best sets at the big box store, and since they have a nifty little case they stay organized for my wife's car. I am super happy with these and would not hesitate to use them on my trucks without fear of them melting down as some of the sets we have bought for her before have. I will be buying them again.

I bought this kit for my daughter's car six months ago just in case she ran into in any issues, luckily she hasn't. Instead, I got a chance to use these a couple of weeks ago, when a friend called my wife to ask her to send me to help give her a jump. The battery in her Hyundai has clearly seen better days and basically conked out on her while she was at work. I managed to get the spot next to her, the cables are long enough that I probably could have hooked them up parked behind her. The cables are clearly labelled and directions right on a handy card attached to the cables, it's been a few years since I had to give a jump, so having the instructions handy was reassuring. Anyway got her enough juice to turn the engine over so she could make it to the garage for a replacement battery. I got a nice thank you dinner out of it so I am already ahead from this purchase.
