When I think of a serum I think of a lightweight liquid but this was more like a moisturizing lotion. While not bad, but definitely not what I expected. Quality: Even though it isn't as lightweight but if you leave it on for 2-3 minutes it's enough time for your face to absorb it and then go on the apply a moisturizer. I do notice that by using this serum and moisturizer it traps it in better but your face definitely feels a little more oily. Overall, decent product but different than what you'll usually expect.

I use hyaluronic acid serum every day, twice a day, so am always looking for new ones to try out. I have gotten a few Amazon Basics skincare items and have loved them, so was super excited to try this Amazon Basics Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum! First, it’s more of a Hyaluronic Acid MOISTURIZER than a serum. Which was weird at first, but not a deal breaker. I actually feel like this can be used for both my Hyaluronic Acid Serum AND my moisturizer. It’s pretty hydrating so it does work well as a moisturizer as well. Not only does it have Hyaluronic Acid, but it also has Essential Ceramides, and Vitamin B, which is nice as most of my Hyaluronic Acid’s have JUST Hyaluronic Acid. So it’s nice when there are good added ingredients. Their main selling point is “if you like CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum, we invite you to try Amazon Basics Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum”. I have never tried CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum, so I’m not sure how it compares. I have fairly sensitive skin and have had no adverse reactions to this. I do like it so far, and I think the price is super reasonable (12.99 at time of review). The only thing is, sometimes it doesn’t pump out easily. So definitely store it upside down!! That helps a LOT!! I hope they change the pump/bottle in the future so you don’t have to struggle with pumping it out.

I've tried dozens of hyaluronic acid product this one is the most interesting. Don't get me wrong. I do like this serum but it was very weird for it to be more like a gel cream when they call it a serum. I like that it's not dripping down my face as I'm trying to put more on before I rub it in and the pump bottle protects the products from any bacteria. It's great and I feel like it works great on my skin. My only downside to this serum is the smell. I don't know if it's the bottle or the formal itself but it smells like strong chemicals. (Like strong plastic chemicals which is why I think it's the bottle.) That is the only problem I have with this product. I have a very strong nose so bad smells are something I cannot deal with. Especially with something like skincare, I want to feel like I'm at a spa when I'm taking care of myself.

This Amazon Basics Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum works very quickly. I felt my face tighten as the serum was drying. Pretty cool sensation. There is no scent detected. My only issue is that this serum came in a serum pump bottle. I kept pumping for a minute and nothing happened. Opening the cap revealed that the bottle is missing the plastic tube that draws the serum to the spray end. Instead of pouting, I simply turned the bottle upside down and shook the bottle so gravity would force the serum to the spray head. Quickly flip it upright and you can use the pump to release the serum for application. Serum is a winner. 4 Stars!

This is a very pleasant light moisturizer with no scent. It's positioned as a store-brand version of a similar product from Cerave, which I don't have handy for a comparison, but it also resembles light moisturizers from other brands enough to make a decent replacement. Squeezing nicely out of the pump, it's a light lotion (I'm not sure what makes it a "serum") that provides dry skin a quick hit of relief, and also feels like it coats the skin a bit so that it remains moist for a while after application. It's truly almost odorless, unlike some "unscented" products that have a trace of chemical or medicinal smell. A fine choice for basic skin soothing.

This serum is intended as an alternative to CeraVe. I have used other CeraVe products, but not their HLA serum. They are known for being very light and free of fragrance, perfect for sensitive skin. This serum is indeed light and fragrance free, and it has worked well for my skin. The very small amount provided by each press of the pump goes a very long way and covers a huge area of my skin. I've used it primarily on my forehead and cheeks, where I tend to have dry skin. Once spread on the skin, it leaves it feeling very soft and smooth for hours. Applied at night, my skin has felt softer the next morning. Coming in at a substantially lower price than CeraVe's serum, but with all of the benefits, I think this a great option for your daily skin care.
