Sturdier than expected. I have a lab puppy. He's currently 4 months old and already 35lbs. Not overweight, lean, maybe part direwolf lol. Anyway, he quickly outgrew his previous playpen, not to mention his 1K vet bill from literal growing pains; they're real folks. Freaked out from him not being able to stand or walk for 2 days only to find out it's growing pains and give him prednisone and send him on his way. Glad that's all it was though! But I digress... super easy to put together, love that you can shape it the way you want it BUT! the shape will only work if youre staking it in the ground. I say that because im using mine indoors which holds up beautifully but because of that the shape WILL move. But once expanded to whatever they push it out to it won't go anywhere, so no worries there. As for staking it in the ground it gives you about 6 inches. If you have an aggressive or determined dog it most likely won't hold up for them, but for my puppy, which is borderline lazy lol, it's fine.

This is a perfect sized pen for my dog. She had been using a crate, but I felt like that was too small. I wanted her to be able to get up and walk around and stretch out, play with her toys, drink her water, etc without being in such a confined space like a crate. I didn’t like having to put her in a crate in the first place while I’m at work, but she had developed some destructive/anxiety behaviors on my walls… anyhow, now she is safe and in this pen when I’m gone, and has room to play and walk around. This was the perfect compromise.

This fence is well made and flexible. It is easy to put together and take apart. We actually got it to put on our back patio inside our fence to keep our dog from accessing the gate onto the patio. It's hard to keep him inside the fence when we are going in and out the gate, especially if we have our arms full of packages or bags. We had a smaller similar fence up but he was getting over it. This one is several inches taller and he is not able to maneuver over it. The latch is not perfect. It should automatically slide back into the locked position when you turn it loose so that the gate locks when you close it. The lock often sticks and has to be manually pushed into place. It also has a slot that you can slip the latch into by lifting up, to keep it from sliding into place when in those times it does automatically want to slip into place and you need it to stay open. The fence is thick and durable and not as lightweight as I would like for it to be, but it is very flexible and can be shifted and moved as needed. My biggest complaint is the height of the threshold of the gate. You have to be careful to lift your foot higher than is normal to ensure you don't trip when stepping over it. I'm not sure why it was designed with such a high threshold, but it does tend to be a safety hazard.

The fence itself is nice, it is good quality and does not feel flimsy. My only issue is that the rods only go into the ground four inches. The fence panel is twenty four inches high so four inches does not allow for a lot of stability. The knubb on the top of the rod only allows it to be inserted just so far, leaving what I feel is an extra 3-4 inches that could go into the ground. For inside use they included covers to go on the bottom of the rod so they do not damage your floors.
