This review is for "Alternative Latex Foam" 2 Inch Mattress Topper. I felt I needed to improve the mattress in our new RV as the foam mattress although fairly comfortable could benefit from the addition of a softer more body contouring topper. I've tried several memory foam mattress toppers in the past, and all of them had the same issue. After a few minutes you are sleeping in a hole that you cannot get out of. All of them ended up in the trash. I don't care what they say. Sleeping in a hole is not comfortable. And the way they advertise memory foam toppers you don't know what you are getting until after you buy it. By chance prior to my purchasing a topper, I spent the night at my son's house and the bed was extremely comfortable. No back ache in the morning and a blissful night's sleep. I had to know what mattress was on this bed. Come to find out it was only the addition of this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper to a cheap mattress that made the bed so comfortable. So, I immediately purchased one for the RV. I can only comment on my experience. This mattress topper is totally different. It provides superior total full body support over and above what you receive from memory foam. Equally the same support you would receive from a full latex mattress topper at less than 1/4 of the cost. I can only describe the comfort and body contouring support you receive from this topper as nothing less than outstanding. Unlike a memory foam mattress when you lie on this mattress topper your body heat does not affect the support quality of the topper. When you move the mattress topper instantly returns back to its original shape allowing you to move as you wish without any restrictions to your movement. You get full total body contouring support no matter how you sleep. In my opinion this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper provides every bit the comfort I get from a $700 Latex Mattress Topper that I have is on our home bed. So far, I have only tested the two-inch topper because I have it on a fairly comfortable foam mattress. On a regular bed the 3 inch may be a better choice. And if you are over 200 lbs. like me. The 3-inch thickness might provide a better level of support. I have found that the topper can sleep warm so a breathable thick mattress pad will remove much of the heat if you are a warm sleeper. I highly recommend this Alternative Foam Topper over a memory foam topper.

I absolutely love this latex mattress topper. I've been buying toppers for years due to back injuries and lately, I've found they become too soft in 6 months and by a year, you're ready to throw it out or consider back surgery. I wanted to try this latex gel infused topper to see if it would provide better/firmer support. The mattress is packed nicely, easy to open and fluffed out immediately. Over time, it will continue to fill out low areas (if any - I didn't notice any on mine). It had only a slight odor which disappeared within hours. (It does not come with a cover so you will want to purchase one. I used my previous topper's cover that fit it perfectly.) The latex is firmer than memory foam toppers I've used before. I couldn't believe how well it supported my old, creaky, body and I woke up without any low back pain this a.m. for the first time in a many months. Being new to this type of topper, I look forward to seeing how well it continues to provide such great support and comfort. As of now, I am very, very, happy with it.

This mattress pad is very comfortable. There is, however, a pungent chemical smell. I don’t know what it is exactly but I hate it. I am hoping it goes away after time. it’s all I can smell when I lay down.

This mattress topper definitely felt good from a softness perspective but I wanted a cooling effect as I struggle to sleep if I am too warm. This topper not only was not cool but the bed became much hotter and more uncomfortable. I even tried layering a cooling mattress cover over it hoping to reduce the effect of the heat but it was still uncomfortably warm. It seems too amplify versus reduce the heat from my body. I am returning it as it is unusable for me.
