It is a little small width wise for a 15.6 but if you don't mind a little wiggle it is plenty stable. It is perfect for my tablet, but not quite right for my laptop. The laptop is too heavy and slides right off the bottom. The rubber does not hold it. I had to glue a piece of heavy cardboard across the bottom to hold it. That works okay.

I'm disappointed in this. The way a laptop sits on this makes it feel tipsy. The angle is just ok and isn't adjustable at all. The hinge to the fold out stand part is flappy and loose. So if you pick up this stand that part swings wildly. Annoying if you're just trying to pick up a laptop along with this stand and move a short distance. The main reason I bought this was because it was one of the few stands now that doesn't put your machine on a 2 foot tall pedestal (looking angrily at nulaxy). I am so happy to come across this support stand. What a great aid for the neck and posture if you are on the computer for a long period of time. Definitely worth buying. Just take it out of the box and easy to mount.
