These are well made dumbbells in a plastic carry case that's a bit larger than a shoe box. They are Utilitarian -- simple design executed well enough. I like that the case makes easy to keep the gear together. If I were to carry it around outside the house I would suggest a band to keep it secure. The plates and hardware have a substantial feel. I use cycling half gloves but I can see how the crosshatch on the bar could be tough on bare hands. Really like them for my intended use and if/when I need more weight just buy additional standard plates. Great value

Even without the handle the price is right, no hidden "shipping pricing" that often comes with weights. I bought some really cheap wal mart set for the plates and barbell, this set doesn't have the problem with poor threading (It was also good value tho). It doesn't come with a weird smell and at the end of the day weight is weight. TL:DR It competently put together. Way cheaper then fixed plate and doesn't cost you 1200 dollar for SAFE adjustable dumbbells that won't break your feet. You can load all the weight on one dumbell as you progressively overload, you can buy 10 pounds plates more then increase it further. It will always be more conveniently "there" unlike spending 30 minutes to commute to a gym. It will always be useful for a few isolation work for lunges and light squat. It good combine with calisthenic and if you learn how to do rows help you towards your first chin up. It portable, its weight that can be rucked or loaded for pushup and pull ups. Finally, it can be given as a gift. Personally, I think you should get an Olympic Barbell save time with big compound movements but that cost big money and for 50 bucks this will send you on your journey to get fit.

I shop everything extensively to find the best value, and this is it. Price per pound was better than I could find anywhere (shipped), and it was delivered right to my doorstep (so saved gas and time too, haha). In fact, the value is good enough that I ordered two sets to get the amount of weight I needed since it was better priced than ordering extra plates. However, there are a few issues/areas for improvement: 1. The knurling on the handles is *VERY*(!) rough/sharp. I work with my hands a lot and have decent calluses, but these hurt. It could just be the batch/set that I got, but I will either need to wear gloves or file/sand the handle area down to minimize the roughness. 2. The case is almost worthless. Not that I would probably use them for anything (taking my weights as carry on luggage on the plane maybe?), but they're definitely not a selling point. 3. The "locking" rubber o-rings are too soft and distort on the inside of the bars and fall out of the threaded collars. I may take one to Ace Hardware or Home Depot to see if I can find a better replacement that is made out of harder rubber. 4. This one is really nit-picky, but it's impossible to get equal weight amounts to what I'm using at the gym. Because the bars are 3lb and the smallest weights are 2.5lb, you can't get the even 5- or 10lb weight increments like the dumbbells in the rack at the gym. For some exercises, this does make a difference, especially for beginners at lower weight amounts. Overall though I'm pleased with the weights and the value, quality of construction and materials, and ease of use. Eventually I'll need to order more/larger plates (I'm using all of both sets now), but for now they're great.

Everything I was hoping to get. I just needed something to keep me in shape and strengthen some of my really used muscles now that I am retired. Easy to assemble and disassemble. I love the case it comes in to keep it well organized when not in use. Great product.

Nice quality and good value for the price. It does have a bit of a plastic-y smell and one of the clips on the case came broken, but the weights themselves are really nice. The weights and bars feel nice in my hands and it's very easy to adjust the weights.
