Fantastic value! Expanded properly, initial smell wasn’t too bad and very comfortable. Plush is more like medium but it’s a very supportive and comfy medium feel. Time will tell how great this mattress holds up, but so far so good. Sure beats getting ripped off at a furniture store.

The Amazon Basics 10" Memory Foam Mattress is a solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable mattress without paying premium brand prices. It’s especially good for guest rooms, kids’ rooms, or anyone who prefers a softer sleep surface. Right out of the box, the mattress expanded pretty quickly after opening (give it the recommended time before sleeping on it). There was a mild “new foam” smell at first, but it faded within a day or two, which is pretty typical for memory foam mattresses. The feel is definitely on the softer/plush side. If you like that slightly sinking, contouring memory foam feel, this does a good job. It cushions pressure points well, especially for side sleepers. It still has enough support underneath that you don’t feel like you’re completely sinking through the mattress. Temperature-wise, it sleeps fairly neutral for memory foam. It’s not specifically marketed as cooling, but I didn’t find it overly hot compared to older memory foam styles. The cover looks clean and simple, and the white/grey design works well with most bedding setups. Pros: ✔ Very comfortable plush/soft feel ✔ Good pressure relief (great for side sleepers) ✔ Good value for a memory foam mattress ✔ Expanded quickly after opening ✔ Minimal off-gassing smell compared to some foam mattresses Cons: ✖ May be too soft for stomach sleepers or people wanting very firm support ✖ Not specifically a cooling mattress (just average temp control) ✖ Edge support is decent but not super firm Overall: If you want a budget-friendly memory foam mattress that still feels comfortable and supportive, this is a great option. It’s especially good for guest rooms, kids, teens, or anyone who prefers a softer sleep surface without spending a lot.

I’m quite satisfied with this mattress. Full disclosure to others looking to this review for guidance on whether or not to buy it: I had ordered another, cheaper memory foam bed in a box compressed mattress and it was just way too firm. It was too expensive to send it back, so I have it underneath THIS mattress. I also have a memory foam mattress topper on top. So this mattress is sandwiched between a firm memory foam mattress and a soft memory foam mattress topper. I actually had two mattress toppers on because I just happened to have two, but it was way too high and just too mushy. Anyway, I digress. I really like this mattress. I like a very soft mattress but sometimes too soft seems to hurt my lower back and my joints, specifically my hips. I’ve had no issues with pain anywhere. I sleep well on this mattress. I don’t know what it’s like on its own but I know that the way I have it set up is excellent. I also know that it was super easy to set up. I dragged the box up one flight of steps by myself. I cut it open and place it on the bed on my own. It was a little difficult but I managed and it didn’t take long. It’s amazing how quickly it puffs up into a mattress. Truly amazing. I feel like I’ll have this mattress for a long time. It seems very well made / durable. I think it was worth the money. I’m happy! If you like a plush mattress and an easy and quick bed in a box, order this.

A little disappointed. Followed directions to decompress mattress upon arrival. Waited a week for it to fully expand and the supposedly 8" mattress I got never expanded to more than 7 inches. So just be aware the 8" is not truly 8 inches. Mattress is not uncomfortable, just sizing is a bit misleading.

I wasn’t expecting much as I’m used to coil spring pillow top mattresses, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s been over a year now, and I can honestly say this is a great mattress. It offers the back support I need and a restful night of sleep. I am a side sleeper, and I don’t wake up with any pain or other issues. I would definitely recommend it and purchase it again if I had to do it over again.
