Our cat has terrible acid reflux, was vomiting acid several times per day. After trying so many food changes and expensive prescriptions for famotadine and other meds (tablets, creams, liquids in oil) from the vet, I found that ozemprazole can work but not as tablets, oils, or ear cream (each for their own reason). These capsules, when opened, contain about 150 tiny microbeads that can be measured or weighed for the pet dose of 5mg. Sprinkle on wet food. I top it with some probiotic powder. The cat eats it without an issue and time release works well. His reflex is well controlled now. I got the idea by reading medical info that people can put these microbeads on applesauce and eat them, if they can't swallow a capsule or need a lower dose than the 20 mg standard. I told my vet; she approved. All other OTC brands of this capsule that I tried are actually a tablet inside a capsule--impossible to cut evenly because of the tablet coating. ... show more

When my usual Subscribe & Save order of this item said it had been discontinued, I was confused because I was able to find this virtually identical listing to replace it. After my most recent order, it seems that the reason for the change is because the pills now come in 3 little pill bottles rather than the previous 3 boxes of blister packs for each individual pill. Personally, I prefer this new packaging, and the pills work as well as they did before. ... show more
